Are you in the mood to travel in a bit luxurious style but you do not want to break the bank for it? What if we told you that you can enjoy all the glam travels for less if you are organized and smart about your traveling decisions?
Get your travel backpacks ready, and keep reading for some tips on how to travel luxuriously on a budget.
Skip the hotel
The first step we have for you is to try to avoid hotels as much as you can. Hotels are often more expensive so make sure you choose your own accommodation option, like a tiny house for example. Another tip that goes with this one – avoid traveling agencies, do your own research, and book accommodation and transportation instead.
Booking a vacation via a traveling agency can have its own perks, but on the other hand, you can save some money by organizing everything yourself.
This includes your accommodation. As we previously mentioned, hotels can get pretty expensive. On the other hand, there are websites that offer various types of housing, and you can easily find something quite glam and luxurious for less money than the average hotel room.
Do your research and, of course, book accommodation only with trustworthy landlords.
Choose your transport options
If you decide you want to fly to your destination, you can look for coupons and discounts to find cheaper yet quite comfortable flights. There are companies that offer discounts for certain dates so if you can try to fit your vacation until these dates and save some money on flights.
There is also something called “empty leg private jet” where you can literally fly via private jet for a small fraction of the original cost. The private jet gets booked for one flight, but not the return one, and basically, it is going to return to its base empty.
Companies decided to offer discounts of up to 75% for tickets to make sure their planes do not fly back empty. It is a win-win situation. Live your private jet fantasy for less!
Or, you can try other ways of transportation. You can go full-on romantic and travel by train if your destination is not that far away from your home. Nowadays there are luxurious offers for a full movie-like experience with nice dinners, champagne, and gorgeous decorations on a train.
You can get that for less money than you would pay for a first-class airplane ticket.
Be your own tour guide
It is also a great idea which will bring you more than just saving some money. having a tour guide is of course a pleasant experience, but it does not have to be different if you do not have one.
If you want to do some sightseeing and visit for example nice restaurants and cafes in your destination spot, you can easily do that by yourself. It’s also a great way to choose what you prefer to see other than joining a pre-planned program or sightseeing that tour guides mostly have.
Save money on tour guide expenses and get to see exactly what you want and how you want. The money you save or guide or a traveling agency can be used for a nice Instagram-worthy dinner in a bit more ‘boujee’ restaurant.
Travel off-season
We have all learned by now that traveling in season is way more expensive than traveling off-season. The experience can be pretty similar even if you are traveling off-season except for maybe summer sea vacations.
If you do not particularly mind swimming in a hotel pool instead, or you do not actually care about swimming at all, the best thing you can do is travel off-season. You can get gorgeous rooms with access to an inside pool area, gym, or spa, for a fraction of the cost during mid-season.
Cultural monuments and life in your destination can easily be experienced whenever you choose. City attractions and things you want to see will not vanish if you do not go there in summer, for example.
So, choose to travel off-season, save some money and enjoy that glam vacaton at Cancun or Cabo as you normally would, just for less money. Plus, you will have even more fun with all the tourists already gone.
Travel safely and enjoy your vacation!
