Whether you’re a resident of the UK or elsewhere, London is a must-visit city. Not only is it abundant in culture, but it’s full of exciting activities for tourists and locals alike to enjoy. Whether you’re exploring London during the day or wandering the streets at night, there’s always something to do in the Big Smoke. New York City is famous for being the city that never sleeps, but rest assured that London isn’t far behind. With activities for the likes of solo-travellers, couples, or friendship groups, you’ll never be short of something to do in London.

The Jack the Ripper Tour

First up is a somewhat unusual suggestion, since it’s not situated within Central London. We’re all familiar with the notorious Jack the Ripper, so why not embark on the Jack the Ripper Tour? In the heart of East London, you’ll be able to take a guided walk that follows in the footsteps of one of Britain’s most notorious serial killers. In spite of this hefty status, no one knows who Jack the Ripper was. Perhaps you can form your own conclusion on a Jack the Ripper Tour. The biggest mistake that tourists often make is that the don’t venture outside of the West-End, when the rest of the capital has so much to offer. Don’t be one to make the mistake.

Harry Potter Walking Tour

It’s no secret that Platform 9¾ is situated in Kings Cross Station, but did you know that you can discover the real Diagon Alley on a Harry Potter Walking Tour? You can embark on one of three tours, including a two-and-a-half-hour tour by Mark, the most popular detailed Harry Potter tour by Geoff, and a kids0friendly GetYourGuide original tour. Do your research and select the tour that would be best suited to you and follow in the footsteps of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Discovering the muggle world of London from a wizard’s perspective is an opportunity that can’t be missed.

HotTug Down London’s Canals

There’s no escaping the fact that London’s canals are cold and dirty, meaning you wouldn’t want to go swimming in them. Instead, you can travel along London’s canals in a wood-fired self-drive hot tub, which is heated to a lovely 38 degrees. Whether the clouds are pouring, or the sun is shining, you’ll feel nice and toasty. You can add to the fun by bringing your own drinks and enjoying your favourite tipple as you bob along the canals. If you’re concerned about hygiene, worry not, as the water gets changed after every trip.

Treasure Hunt Around London

Escape rooms are the latest phenomenon, but have you ever heard of an outdoor escape room? Well, in London, adventurers can take part in a super fun treasure hunt, presented by HiddenCity. This is an interactive treasure-hunt experience, whereby clues are sent to your phone, facilitating you in your adventure into the unknown. You’ll get to speak to people you meet and interact with physical puzzles, completing challenges that the story sets out for you. All you need is a fully charged phone, a UK phone number, and weather-appropriate clothing.

The Tower of London

As a prison, palace, and fortress, the Tower of London has something for everyone. This is one of the most traditional sites to be seen in London, housing the Crown Jewels of the British Monarchy. It’s recommended that you set aside at least an hour for your visit to the Tower of London, but you could easily spend so much longer here. The beauty of the architecture is unmatched and a guidebook is an absolute must!
