Isla Mujeres

One of the most famous is “El Farito” a lighthouse with a dazzling reef that will amaze you, and there is a virgin statue at the bottom to admire as well. This beautiful island is located just 30 minutes away from Cancun. 

MUSA Cancun’s Underwater Museum

An underwater museum takes place between the gorgeous Isla Mujeres and Cancun. Hundreds of sculptures are settled at the bottom of the Caribbean sea just for you to enjoy these magnificent masterpieces. MUSA is an experience that allows you to admire a great art collection under the water. An original tourist attraction, and also one of the favorites for tourists and locals.

Punta Nizuc Reef

Right at the Cancun Hotel Zone’s end, an impressive coral reef is located. It offers a huge area for a Cancun Snorkeling adventure and also a vast of marine life. Xcacel Reef

Cancun Fish species

Barracuda. The barracuda is one of the great predators of the Reef and It is always lurking at the water’s edge.

Grouper. These guys will be hiding from you on little caves on the Reef, some of the bigger ones might be out there and wander around you.

Green Moray. These fish are amazing to spot in the Reef, they are simply marvelous.

Parrotfish. You’ll be able to see lots of Parrotfish in the second largest coral reef barrier in the world. 

Angelfish. These are majestic to see, there can be all sizes but the big ones are just dazzling. 

Besides those amazing fish species, stingrays can also be seen quite frequently. And if you are lucky you’ll see turtles, starfish, and even dolphins. This will be a wonderful and unique experience, discovering the jewels of the Caribbean sea, unwind in those smooth waves.

Snorkeling Tours

How do you get to these unrealistic places? nothing to worry about. There are several tour options in Cancun. Agencies provide this service with excellent amenities. All the tours include snorkel equipment and a life vest. Sometimes food is included and provided in a beach club to rest all day as well. Some others only include snacks and drinks on board. Round transportation could also be on the list. That is what you normally get booking a Snorkeling Tour in Cancun. 

If it wasn’t enough, the sea is not the only place for Snorkeling in Cancun and Riviera Maya. The cenotes are natural pools between the lush Mayan jungle, they are simply magnificent. These are sinkholes with huge depths and crystal clear waters, with wonderful vegetation, marine life, and impressive underwater caverns to explore. So, don’t forget to try one of them on your next visit. 

Remember to not use any kind of sunscreen to preserve this fantastic natural environment as well as marine life.
