Atlanta, Georgia is home to some of the most incredible attractions. The city has a ton of rich history and attracts thousands of tourists each year. From the world of Coca-Cola, to Stone Mountain Park, Atlanta offers to host a fun time for you and your family. Here are the top attractions and best things to do in Atlanta when visiting.

Stone Mountain Park

Perhaps the most famous in the South East, Stone Mountain Park is one of the 7 wonders of Georgia and the largest piece of exposed granite in the world. The mountain covers over 500 acres of land and has tons of rich history centered around it.

Besides hiking the mountain and seeing the beautiful surrounding city of Atlanta, tourists looking for things to do in Atlanta with kids will be happy to know the park offers lodging, restaurants, campgrounds, laser shows, a locomotive train, and many other seasonal activities that are fun for the entire family.

World of Coca-Cola

Coke is one of the most famous brands in the world. Itโ€™s hard to find someone whose never heard of coke soda! Tourists can do a number of things at this attraction that are great for a wide spectrum of audiences.

Visitors can see the vault where the 125-year-old secret formula is stored. In addition, the โ€˜tasting roomโ€™ allows tourists taste the hundreds of variations of coke from around the world. Thereโ€™s a number of exhibits centered around the marketing memorabilia, signs, and history of this world-renowned company. This is a top thing to do in Atlanta for young and old alike.

Martin Luther King Memorial

This iconic site is a memorial to civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. The famous leader lived in Atlanta and conducted much of his business in this city. In fact, you can even visit his home and church which still stands to this day.

While this attraction may not be as โ€˜funโ€™ to a child, many older audiences will feel the weight and sobriety of this exhibit. Itโ€™s definitely a must for tourists who wish to see all the things Dr. King accomplished for civil rights. The memorial provides the history of Kingโ€™s life and artifacts and videos from the civil rights era.

Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium is a breath-taking exhibit that houses famous aquatic animals from around the world. Big animals such as beluga whales, whale sharks, and more are available to be watched as well as smaller animals like stingrays, jelly fish, and sea horses, all of which are entertaining and beautiful to observe.

All ages will love to visit the aquarium in Atlanta. If youโ€™re scuba certified, youโ€™re even able to swim with the sharks! Remember that the Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world and is one of the few places to have Whale Sharks (the largest fish in the world). You donโ€™t want to miss on this Atlanta activity!

Atlanta Botanical Garden

For the fanatic florist or gardener, they wonโ€™t want to sleep on this attraction in Georgia. The purpose of Atlanta Botanical Garden is to “develop and maintain plant collections for the purposes of display, education, conservation, research and enjoyment.โ€

This attraction takes anywhere from 2 hours to an entire day to get through the multiple gardens. Itโ€™s a place of serenity and peace that your family will love to witness. Christmas time is especially beautiful with the lights they decorate the gardens with!
