Tenerife has become one of the most popular holiday destinations for Europeans and an increasing amount of people from around the globe. Once thought of as purely surf-and-sand holiday, this island in the Canary archipelago has started attracting visitors for many of its other qualities, which include a stunning national park capped by a volcano, towering sea-cliffs, and a mix of quaint coastal and in-land towns. If you’re looking to plan your next vacation you won’t go wrong booking your Tenerife holidays today. Here are just a few of the great things you’ll get to experience. Parque Nacional del Teide This national park that sits at the heart of Tenerife is a landscape like no other, and features the stratospheric peak El Teide Volcano, which at 3718metres is not only the tallest mountain in the Canary Islands, but all of Spain. With a mix of hiking trails that explore the varied topography of the park, and the opportunity to summit the volcano, you’re bound to have a thrilling experience. Los Gigantes These massive sea-cliffs provide breathtaking views from both the shore and the water of the bay that they surround, as they rise up from the water’s surface to between 500 and 800 metres in height. Visitors to this famed attraction will not want to miss the chance to head out on a boat tour of the harbour, where you’ll be able to take in the views alongside schools of local dolphins. The town of Santiago del Teide is also home to some beautiful botanical gardens that make a good pairing for a day’s exploration. The Best Beaches of Tenerife There truly are some outstanding things to see and do in Tenerife aside from their world-class beaches, but in the end the beaches still will always be the number one attraction. Whether you’re into discovering hidden sandy coves such as Playa Bollullo, or are enjoy the long strands of uninterrupted sand like those of Playa de Las Vistas, Tenerife will have you beach needs covered. Other favourites include El Medano, which is the perfect place to head for some watersports, as well as Playa de Las Americas, which is easily Tenerife’s most famous and visited beach. Don’t miss-out on all the fun that Tenerife has to offer. After a holiday of trekking, sightseeing, and relaxation, you’ll be looking forward to a return visit.
