Bangkok Holds a Guinness World Record Bangkok proudly holds the Guinness World Record for having the longest name of a place. The name “Bangkok” is the shortened version of the city’s ceremonial name: “Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit.” Thai People Tell the Time Differently Rather than having AM and PM like we do in the Western world, in Thailand the time is broken up into six hour segments. It’s basically kick volleyball and is an entertaining sport to observe. It is Year 2552 not 2013 The Buddha was born before Jesus and as a result you will find that in Thailand the year is actually 2552 rather than 2013.
