Have you ever wanted to feel completely at ease and escape from all the things bothering you at work or at home? A break in Hawaii is the answer. Immerse yourself in the tropical scenery and relax on one of the sandy beaches. Hawaii has not one, but a selection of islands to choose from.

Oahu

This is the island where Hawaiiโ€™s capital is on. Honolulu is one of the most popular places to visit when travelling to Hawaii. A very popular tourist place is Waikiki, where a plethora of hotels surround the man-made Waikiki beach. Even though this beach is artificial its extremely beautiful! The Waikiki area is situated in a great place on Oahu island. There is always something going on which attracts a lot of attention in the centre. If you have a chance during your stay, take a coach trip around the island. Oahu is a medium sized island, however one can drive around the island in less than a day. If you take a trip to the north side of the island, youโ€™ll find beaches such as โ€œTurtle Bayโ€ โ€“ good for surfing and for seeing some giant turtles! Follow the link to see a short clip about the top things to do in Hawaii!

Maui

This island is the second most popular tourist destination in Hawaii. Maui is famous for its picturesque beaches and for its tranquil atmosphere. From Oahu or the Big Island you can get a boat or a flight to this island. It is definitely worth a trip, especially if you want to escape from civilisation for a bit! The west side of this island is filled with tropical rainforests and beautiful waterfalls. If you really want to be with nature, then a walk around these parts is a definite must.

The Big Island

Much like Oahu, this island has a lot of town houses and other types of accommodation for residents and tourists to rent. Companies have many apartments and rooms to rent on this particular island, which is a great alternative if you want to beat expensive hotel prices. This island is home to the most active volcano in the world. However, there are some luscious green parts to this island as it rains quite regularly here as well as having a lot of sunshine.

Kauai

Many tourists of this island has described Kauai as having spectacular scenery and a great personality. Much like Maui, this island has secluded beaches where you can relax and be at one with nature. The northern part of the island is mountainous, which is a great place to go if you are an enthusiastic hiker! For those of you who love the water, than Kauai offers some great surfing and snorkelling opportunities.
