Now you can explore some of the most exciting cultural sites in the world, without even leaving home! Taking travel guidebooks and holiday brochures one step further is the Google World Wonders Project, which is like street view gone superlarge!
Basically Google street view has gone an extra step and now allows users to virtually explore some 132 world heritage sites across the globe. You can stroll interesting neighbourhoods and cities and scroll through street level shots.
There are some great sites featured such as the Palace of Versailles in France, Jerusalem and Stonehenge in the UK. Users can find by location and theme and can navigate the destinations, walk the sites and enjoy panoramic 360 degree views. The images were captured this time on board tricycles rather than automobile. There’s a great choice of locations to dip into and hopefully the site will continue to add more places across the world.
