Best Holiday Destinations to go after Covid-19

  • September 3, 2020
  • admin

We know how important it is to stay home right now, and we are so grateful to everyone who helps us do this, from health workers and emergency responders fighting to keep us healthy and safe. From the grocery stores and restaurant workers putting food on our tables, to hospitality professionals who have not given up bringing the world to us.

But it doesn’t mean we don’t think of packing our bags and getting back out there. With better days ahead, let’s take a look at some possible places you might consider visiting in a post-pandemic world.

Matera, Italy

A romantic ravine in Italy which will attract you if you are looking for an immersive experience.

Down in the arch of the foot of Italy, Matera is built on the foundation of the ravine. This alien, prehistoric-looking city is a long way from everywhere, and so far from time, it has been used as a backdrop for films in search of an historical Jerusalem: Ben-Hur and The Passion of Christ, for which a crucifix has been made which stands on the hillside.

Today, the streets are lined with restaurants and shops, but on the edges of the city, where narrow lanes give way to panoramic views of the nearby hills and the Gravina River ravine, you can see vacant and deserted caves marked by graffiti. You can see why this city has to be included in your Italy tour when the pandemic passes.

If you are having doubts visiting these places, why not contact an immigration advisor to help you out in order not to get delayed when the pandemic is over.

Chengdu, China

Chengdu’s tourist attraction has long been based on two Chinese clichés: a hotspot and giant pandas. The capital of Sichuan is home to the highest concentration of such doe-eyed bears in the world, and its food has been distributed worldwide. Yet there is nowhere better to see the future of New China than here, the coolest city in the Middle Kingdom.

Chengdu is a remarkable, rainbow-colored anomaly in a country where the LGBT community is still invisible. Stay here to taste the cutting edge of modern Chinese society.

Los Cabos, Mexico

One of the best destinations for long-haul beach holidays in 2020 is the luxurious Los Cabos (yes, the destination George Clooney loved) due to TUI’s latest direct flights unveiled in November 2019.

If you’re trying to soak up the Mexican beauty, bask in the glorious sun or catch the shark, this is a place that should be on your radar this year. Travel with TUI and live at one of the expansive beachfront hotels in San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas.

Athenian Riviera, Greece

The Athenian Riviera has been waiting for its moment in the spotlight, and 2020 will be its year. Greek holiday specialist Olympic Holidays lists this stunning natural location as the top resort for this year. If you visit its beaches on the outskirts of Athens, you’re in for a treat.

Anticipate relaxed elegance, gorgeous sands and stylish dining spots like Vouliagmeni, Glyfada and Varkiza. You can comfortably pair your beach break with the days of discovering the bustling past of Athens, a 20-minute drive north.

Paris

Each year, the City attracts millions of tourists with its unforgettable atmosphere. Of note, sublime food and large works of art warrant praise. The River Seine flows through the city, flanked by centuries-old churches, and blocks of Neoclassic-designed architecture, stately museums,  further intensified by sparkling street lamps and cascading trees.

Peppering the Seine’s rugged walks and graceful bridges are chic Parisians, on their way to the café, market or the cinema.

Glacier National Park

Named after the remains of ice age glaciers, the Glacier National Park is situated on the boundary between the United States and Canada and is sometimes referred to as the “Crown of the Continent” because it is located at the headwaters of the rivers that flow into the Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Ocean, and the Bay of Hudson.

If you are a fan of hiking, the park offers a range of trails for different levels of ability, from the simple Cedar Trail to the difficult Grinnell Glacier. The park features several waterfalls, over 700 lakes and two mountain ranges, spread over more than 1 million acres which host a variety of wildlife.

Salzburg, Austria

Ranked the best city to visit in 2020 by Lonely Planet, the Alpine City boasts famous annual festival happening in July-August. Events and exhibitions from operas and concerts to readings will be devoted to this special occasion.

As the birthplace of Mozart and the backdrop for The Sound of Music, there are many museums and buildings dedicated to the rich cultural history of the city. Visit the Mozart Museum, the home of the composer, and take part in a bike tour of the hit musical.

London, England

London is a cosmopolitan city with a rare mix of ancient cultures and trendy, urban society.

You will taste tea and crumpets and toast the royal heritage of the city before going out to the sleek gastropub for gourmet dinners and drinks.

From the modern London Eye to the historic Tower of London, there are top tourists attractions in London to see.

There are plenty of kid-friendly places to stay in London. Stay close and personal with marine species at SEALIFE London Aquarium or visit the Discovery Museum, London’s immersive museum of science and technology.

Ibiza

The second largest of the Balearic Islands started out as a sleepy place to visit before the clubbers arrived so it became a party paradise. Ibiza has now struck a wonderful match for those looking to party past dawn and for families searching for a chilled out summer break.

The big clubs in San Antonio and Ibiza Old Town, like Amnesia and Pacha, are big draws for the younger generation. Or look for a package to Playa d’En Bossa for some great beaches and bars.

For kids, if you want a break from the beach, try Aguamar Waterpark or rent a few bikes from San Antonio.

Barbados

This island on the eastern tip of the Caribbean is primarily renowned for its white beaches, British colonial history, various rum shops and Rihanna. Recently, Mia Mottley, the country’s first female prime minister, put out a rallying call for those with Bajan origins to come to the island in 2020 and partake in a year-long series of activities highlighting the Bajan heritage and culture.

The island is known for having some of the most stunning beaches in the Caribbean, where you can rest, snorkel with turtles or take part in any water sports events.

Conclusion

Spend the weekend and travel around, support local businesses, and help drive the economy in whichever way you can, and soon, we will all be done with the COVID-19 and start to travel again.

Where are you planning to go next? Are these countries on your list? If they are not, why not include them on your list.
