How Many Sheep Are There In New Zealand?

  • February 27, 2009
  • admin

In the early 1980s there were twenty sheep to every person but now there are only ten for every person. New Zealand’s economy was based around agriculture, dairy, meat and wool. Tourism has been steadily increasing in New Zealand what with the stunning landscapes and the feeling of space. There are now over three million visitors to New Zealand every year. Not bad for a country with 40 million sheep hey?

But just what is there to do there? In the South Pacific Ocean, New Zealand has three main cities; Wellington, the capital and Auckland on the North island, and Christchurch on the South island. This stunning country has some amazing scenic highlights waiting to be discovered from national parks and marine reserves to lakes and fjords. There is also history and culture, arts and crafts, galleries and museums.

Where New Zealand really excels however is the sheer abundance of sports and adventure activities that are on offer including hot air ballooning, paragliding and hand gliding. There’s abseiling, bungy and snowboarding. That’s before we’ve even mention the abundance of water sports including kayaking, windsurfing and parasailing.

Chill out in the casinos, spas and geothermal pools with a glass of world class wine.
