Getting There
You want your trip to be enjoyable from start to finish so you want to ensure your journey is as stress-free as possible. The UK is a fairly small country so driving to Brighton is certainly an option. However, it’s not the only one. If you’re travelling from the north of the UK, you may not want to spend the duration of your journey in a car whiling away hours on a motorway. Instead, you could consider flying to London and going from there. Similarly, for visitors travelling from abroad, flying to Gatwick airport makes it so easy to get on the train from Gatwick Airport to Brighton. Allowing you to sit back and relax for the final stretch of your travel.
Brighton Palace Pier
Once you’re in Brighton you really are spoilt for choice for what to do. The city was listed as one of the top 40 places in the world to visit so it’s understandable you might not know where to start. Why not begin with one of its ultimate visitor destinations? Perhaps the most famous landmark in Brighton is the Palace Pier. It was first opened to the public in 1899 and has been an integral part of the city ever since. It offers visitors the traditional charms of the British seaside town, with its arcades and fish and chips right by the ocean.
The Lanes
Brighton is known across the country for its cool character and you would be hard-pressed to find a spot in the city which shows this off better than the Lanes. It’s a collection of narrow streets made up of boutiques, cafes, record shops, galleries and more – all housed in beautiful 16th-century architecture. You can grab a coffee and easily spend a day exploring this neighbourhood. Be sure to try a pint of real ale from one of the pubs there, too.
British Airways i360 Viewing Tower
This moving observation tower is the perfect combination for those who enjoy thrill-seeking and sightseeing, with a full 360-degree view of Brighton from a height of 162 meters. Designed by the same team that brought us the London Eye, it is just as much of a must-see tourist attraction as its London counterpart. On a good day, you may even be able to spot the Isle of Wight.
