The 26 hectare reserve at Umhlanga Lagoon is simply stunning and features two trails to explore. South Africa is famous for its game reserves where some of the world’s most precious animals are saved from extinction. Book a trip to Hluhluwe, one of Africa’s oldest reserves, to see black and white rhinos.

A short drive south of Durban you can also visit one of the region’s top dive sites, the Aliwal Shoal Marine Protected Area. Here fossilised sand dunes have made an unusual natural reef which is the perfect place to find large congregations of harmless ragged-tooth sharks.
