Begin your adventure in Oswego where you can walk along the walls of Fort Ontario a star-shaped fortress overlooking Lake Ontario. Depending upon the time of year when visiting the Thousand Island-Seaway region you can participate in many special events like the anniversary of the War of 1812, or July 28 – 31 for the Harborfest.

The many hiking trails along the scenic Salmon River in Pulaski where you can fish for steelhead, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, and huge salmon. You can camp, sleep at old country inns and stay at the many historic villages where you can enjoy the Great Lakes Seaway Trail in Sackets Harbor.
