Day 01. Airport – Bishkek. Arrival in Bishkek. Meeting at the Manas airport of Bishkek city. Transfer to the hotel. After having rest you may enjoy city tour of Bishkek – a capital of Kyrgyzstan. You may enjoy simple soviet architecture of the city. You will visit enormous Ala-Too square which affords fantastic view of snow peaks of the Kyrgyz ridge, green parks, oriental bazaar and many other sights. (B,L,D)
Day 02. Bishkek – Cholpon-Ata. After breakfast we will drive towards to Issyk-Kul Lake and by the way will visit Burana Tower – the site of the ancient settlement. Today we will take way which going by north side of the lake and stay overnight in Raduga hotel. Free time. Raduga hotel is located on seaside and has great garden and swimming pool. People can have leisure time on a seaside. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 03. Cholpon-Ata – Karakol. In the morning visit of a unique museum of rock drawings- petroghlyphes – a famous open-air historical monument of the Kyrgyz history. The rock drawings date back from II century to IX century. Drive alone the northern shore of the lake. Visit of the memorial museum devoted to the famous Russian explorer of the 19th century N. Prjzvalskii where he died of typhoid, while preparing for an expedition to Tibet. Then we will drive to the mountains gorge Gregorievskoe, in October it would be nice colors as all trees will be with leaes of different colors from yellow to deep red. Two great mountain lake will be waiting for you in the gorge. Picnic. Evening we will arrive to Karakol town that was founded in the 19th century as a Russian settlement and that keeps a spirit of an old rural town. But the town is famous not only for its history. Many climbers spend some days there to get used to the altitude before starting their mountaineering. You will have a city tour in Karakol visiting the famous wooden orthodox Holy Trinity cathedral completed in 1895, used as an officer's club during Soviet times, but now restored and in use again and the unique wooden mosque built by Chinese artisans for the local Dungans between 1907 and 1910 entirely without a single nail. Day 04. Karakol – Tamga. After breakfast drive to Tamga. There are a few options how to spend this day. First is to do nice trekking to the mountains. Second is to take horses and ride in a mountains. Walking or riding to Tamga-Tash stone that is situated on the southern side of the Issyk-kul Lake near the Tamga village, on the right shore of Tamga river. First records about this stone date back to 1890, when along the shore of the Tamga river stretched a road of stones. The name Tamga-Tash is the most ancient appellation in Kyrgyzstan territory. Tamga-Tash means clear cut stamp on the stone . Stone lump resembles a Kyrgyz yurta. Tamga-Tash has Tibetan inscriptions on it, and the words repeat three times: Om Mani Padme Hum . The words were carved in strict monumental style and the letters are up to 10 cm in size. The stone had two parts next to the carved inscriptions. It is the mystical saying, where every word has a very important symbolism. This saying was carved on the stones on high passes, on rocks near water sources and river valleys, in settlements and cloisters, everywhere, where Buddhist apologist could enter . Among local people there is a legend that Tamga-Tash was cleaved by Manas (epic hero). And this monolith testifies about great hero’s power. The text on the stone is a list of his trophies. Ancients Buddhist monuments at the territory of our government testify to our country was a place of meeting between different cultures. Back to Tamga guesthouse. At sunset we will come back to the lake of the Issyk-Kul lake because Tamga bay is one of the best places for enjoying sunset. After that coming back to guesthouse.
Day 05. Karakol – Kochkor. In the morning you will have time to go to the beach and to swim in the lake. After lunch in the afternoon drive to the village of Kochkor along the southern shore of the lake. This village is famous among visitors not only because it is a point between Bishkek and Naryn, but also because it is a center of felt souvenirs. In this village there is a workshop where local women make shyrdaks – national felt carpets and other national souvenirs. Shyrdak is a traditional Kyrgyz carpet that is laid on the floor in a yurt. But even now we can see shyrdaks in the houses of ordinary Kyrgyz families. The process of making shyrdaks is very complicated but interesting. It usually takes a long time for women to make one shyrdak of good quality. In Kochkor Village you will have an opportunity to visit felt workshop and see the process of making national carpets and buy souvenirs. Overnight in a guesthouse. (B/L/D) By the way we will visit great places of Barskaun waterfall and Skazka valley with red sand castles. Then уou will continue driving to Kochkor village. Stay over night in Guest House.
Day 06. Kochkor – Kyzyl-Oi. In the morning after breakfast drive to Kyzyl-Oi Village. En-route you will see wonderful scenery of multicolored mountains stretching along the rapid Kekemeren River. The Kekemeren is one of the biggest tributaries of the Naryn River This river is very popular for rafting of different levels. But we will not just follow the road and will turn towards to Minkush, where in a small mountain valley we will see one of the most beautiful lakes of Kyrgyzstan – Ala-Kuel lake, which is getting more beautiful during September and October months. Then back to the road and continue to drive to Kyzyl Oi village. Dinner and overnight in Kyzyl-Oi Village on the bank of the Kekemeren River (B/L/D)
Day 07. Kyzyl-Oi – Bishkek. In the morning after breakfast we will start drive to Bishkek over Susamyr Valley – a picturesque broad valley stretching over 155 kilometers where Kyrgyz shepherds set up their yurts in summer on the mountain meadows and pasture their animals on the road Bishkek – Osh then over Tua Ashu pass to Bishkek. From the pass you can take wonderful pictures of the serpentine road and Susamyr valley. Arrival in Bishkek. Overnight at the hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 08. Bishkek – Airport. In the morning transfer to the airport.
