Day 01. Arrival in La Paz. Reception in the airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest. Overnight in La Paz
Day 02. Tiwanaku - After breakfast, 6 hours excursion to the archaeological place of Tiwanaku, millenarian pre-inca ruins (1.500 b.c.), located in the middle of the Altiplano, where we will appreciate the admirable litho sculptures, monuments, Suns’ Door, temples, the local museum and also the church in the town, which was built in 1612, most of it with stones and material from the ruins.. Includes typical lunch and entry fees. Overnight in La Paz.
Day 03. La Paz – Uyuni - Bus to Oruro (3 ˝ hours trip) and then connection to Uyuni by train. On arrival, somebody will pick you up in the train station and take you to the hotel. Overnight in the town of Uyuni
Day 04. Uyuni Salt Lake - Departure to the Uyuni Salt Fields at 10:30 a.m. Visit Colchani where we will observe manual salt production and processing to iodine salt. We then head to the Inca Huasi Island, also called Fish Island by its peculiar form. It has lots of caves and gigantic cactus about 8 to 10 meters spread over a lime like surface. Lunch. Overnight SALT HOTEL (unique in the world)i. Dinner.
Day 05. Uyuni – Potosí - Breakfast. We board the Bus heading to Potosí. The road is gravel all the way but in pretty good condition and presents magnificent landscapes, which opens one by one in front, that is why 200 kilometers to Potosi goes imperceptibly.. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Potosí
Day 06. Potosi – Sucre - Breakfast. Mine Excursion: We visit the mining neighborhoods and then go up to the foot of the Cerro Rico Mountain where during the XVII century, millions of tons of silver were mined and conveyed to Spain. We then go underground and observe how the mining cooperatives work. Feel their exciting myths, hard work, and hopes. In the afternoon City Tour including the famous MINT HOUSE, where gold and silver coins were embossed during colonial times. Trip by bus to Sucre. The road to Sucre is all paved where we arrive after a 3 hours drive. Reception and transfer to the hotel.
Day 07. Farming and crafty community Jatun Yampara It is about 1 hr drive from Sucre where the Yampara Indian culture can be appreciated, which is one of the oldest in the continent. We will observe typical housing, clothing and customs, Indian textiles, ceramics, etc. We will also visit the local typical Museum of the village. Lunch. In the afternoon City tour visiting historical places like Casa de la Libertad, La Recoleta, San Lázaro, two museums and the Convent of San Felipe Nery. Overnight in Sucre
Day 08. Sucre – La Paz - After breakfast transfer to the airport for our one hour flight to La Paz. In the afternoon we have a City tour visiting the most interesting places in La Paz, typical places like the Witches Market, artisanal markets, the colonial calle Jaén with its impressive museums, also residential areas of the south and the well known Moon Valley , where erosion has given place to the most exotic and curious surface forms.. Overnight in La Paz.
Day 09. Titikaka Lake - Copacabana – Isla del Sol. In a prívate transport trip to the town of Copacabana. On arrival visit the Church where is the Dark Madonna. Lunch. Then in a typical boat follow a visit to the SUN ISLAND. The waters of TITIKAKA LAKE are a beautiful blue, reflecting the hills, mirroring the sky and changing color when it is cloudy. The Sun Island is worshipped as the birthplace of Manco Kápac and Mama Ocllo the first founders of the Inca’s Empire. Some ruins like the Pilkokaina Palace, the Inca’s Fontaine, the 200 stairs of Yumani are part of this beautiful Island, worth to see it. Trekking along the Island. Return to the town of Copacabana and continue to La Paz.
