A fine luxury camp in the trees overlooking the Zambezi River, the Tongabezi Lodge is a wonderful place to unwind and discover the serenity of Africa .Tongabez Lodge is the first river lodge on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls. The Lodge is privately owned and run, with the emphasis on exclusivity and romance, enhanced by the warmth and hospitality of the people of Zambia.

Tongabezi is small and secluded and set in a tranquil grove of African ebony trees on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River. The guest accommodation, located only meters from the river, consists of five cottages and four spacious, open-planned stone and thatch houses. All rooms have fabulous river views and en-suite bathrooms.
The Garden cottage is perfect for families, with a living room and two large bedrooms opening onto a private inner garden.

This lodge is not just another jumping off point for Vic Falls but very much a destination in its own right. There is plenty to do just around here (from canoeing to fishing, island picnics and trips to the Livingstone markets)and the lodge offers activities tailor made activities to match childrenís age & interests. So donít be tricked into thinking that a quick stopover here is all youíll need. You can certainly spend at least a day around the Falls but also another couple enjoying the vibe at Tongabezi.

Day 01. Arrival at Livingstone airport and transfer to Tongabezi Lodge your accommodation situated right on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. In the afternoon you will be able to visit the Victoria Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders)just 15 km downstream (inclusive activity) For the next four nights you accommodation will be a cottage overlooking the banks of the Zambezi. The cottage has a large double bed or two singles beds, plus a mosquito net and ensuite bath and shower, adine under the stars and enjoy the views. With gauze netting in the windows. A valet is assigned to each cottage at Tongabezi luxury lodge. A ratio of 4 friendly staff to every guest at Tongabezi Lodge ensures a luxurious and relaxing stay. There is no set pattern to days at Tongabezi. You can do as much or as little as you wish, with game drives, bush walks and boating trips all included in the price.
Day 02. Safaris in Zambia are all about excellent guiding and an all-round wildlife experience. It is also one of the best places you can go for walking safaris. The area around the Victoria Falls is one of the best safari regions in Africa, luxury river and bush safari trips are included in your stay
Day 03. If you are visiting Tongabezi Lodge for a few days, consider spending an unforgettable night or two at Sindabezi Island Camp, Tongabezi's private island paradise nestled in the waters of the Zambezi near the Victoria Falls. Access from Tongabezi Lodge is by a short banana boat ride, or a guided canoe trip, where you may be lucky enough to spot a pod of wallowing Hippo or Elephant drinking on the river bank.
Day 04. Trip to Livingstone Island, which is the place from where the mighty Victoria Falls was first spotted. The lodge organizes tea and lunch, and you can indulge in some swimming by jumping into a rock pool in the middle of the Zambezi, right beside a 100 m drop!
Day 05. Depart to your next destination by plane or road transfer (arranged on request). Your departure time will determine your morning activity.
