There are many photogenic places in Israel. Click here to find out which are the five best to capture and cherish for years to come.
Going on vacation always comes down to two things: the experience and how you capture it. Of course, everybody wants to live in the moment. It’s important, when you come to the later stages in life, that you remember the places you visited. What you saw, how it felt, what it sounded like. But it can also be important to accompany these memories with photographs; something to latch onto and place you back in time in a way memories alone cannot achieve.
If you’re visiting Israel, then you should try to remember this. Israel is a beautiful country, full of history, culture and scenery that you will undoubtedly want to visit over and over again once you have left. Of course, as mentioned previously, you should attempt to experience as much of it in the moment and not behind a phone, but that doesn’t mean you should tuck your camera away for the entire trip to Israel. Instead, here are five of the most beautiful places where you should take out the camera and capture the memory:
The Ramen Crater
Thought to be the work of a huge asteroid that collided with the earth, the Ramon Crater is one of the most stunning and unique places to visit in Israel. With a desert that stretches as far as the eye can see, it is the perfect place to hike, explore and photograph the timeless scenery which is unlike anything you have seen before.
The Western Wall
Israel is renowned for its Jewish history and heritage, so much so that you will undoubtedly want to take a piece of it home with you. Jewish artefacts and ornaments are aplenty throughout Israeli market places, stalls or even the Israeli Centre Of Judaica site, but if you want to experience and capture the ultimate Jewish site, then the Western Wall simply cannot be beaten.
Created as a pilgrimage site for the Jewish faith, this is a photogenic monument which is both beautiful and moving. For the perfect picture, try to climb the stairs to one of the terraces during the evening. That way you can get a view of the entire complex and shoot it under the glistening red light of the setting sun.
The Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is one of the most famous stretches of water in the world, and just a quick visit here is enough to understand why. With blue, shimmering water and gorgeous, striking colours, this is a part of the world which was made to be photographed. Try to make sure your phone is waterproof, though, as you will want to spend as much time in the healing, clinical water as possible.
Jaffa, The Old City
Set on the waterfront of Tel Aviv, this is an old part of Israel which has remained alive for thousands of years. Complete with ancient buildings, narrow alleyways and a historic harbour; you’ll want to head around each corner with your camera constantly at the ready. Just make sure you don’t bump into anyone on your way, the streets are as ancient and narrow as the day they were built!
The Mediterranean Coast
This last one is vague, but that’s only because the entire Mediterranean Coast is worth photographing. No matter if you’re overlooking the coast from Jaffa or taking a wonder down the promenade of Tel Aviv Beach, there is always a spectacular ocean view to be photographed and cherished for years to come.
For tips on how best to capture it, try overlooking the coast during a sunrise or sunset. That way, when the sun casts incredible shades of red and sparkles onto the sea, you will be left with a beautiful photograph which manages to capture nature in a unique, stunning moment.
