You’ve enjoyed your recreational vehicle over the years. It has taken you to amazing places. Now, it’s time to sell it to upgrade or move to the next phase of your life. To help you, here’s a guide on how to sell a recreational vehicle.

Please Clean It Up

The first thing to do is make sure that the interior and exterior are clean. For example, a power wash on the RV’s outside removes excess dirt from thousands of travel miles. On top of this, it’s best to fix any cosmetic issues that don’t cost thousands of dollars to repair.

The interior also requires a thorough cleaning. Every surface must be wiped down, swept, or vacuumed. You want the interior’s aroma to be neutral.

Like the exterior, see if there are any repairs you can make on your own. For instance, tightening cabinet doors, replacing window dressings, and changing water filters. Finally, you want to make the RV turnkey ready for sale.

Tune Up the Drivetrain and Powertrain

Take your recreational vehicle into a shop for a tune-up. This is especially true if it has more than 100,000 miles on the odometer. At the minimum, have the shop change the oil and flush all other fluids. Checking the balance and alignment of the tires helps maintain good mileage.

On top of these issues, have the shop check your HVAC units and the water and sewer lines. All of these are important for the safety and comfort of the buyer. If there are issues that you can’t resolve before the sale, then make sure they’re detailed in the offer.

Determine the RV Type

According to Camping World, the site has “more than 15,000 towable trailers available.’ This means various trailers would be available, so look out for the travel trailers for sale signs put up by thousands of owners. As you prepare to let go of the recreational vehicle, you want to verify the type you own. If you’re unsure, examine other RV available trailers to refine the category.

Figure Out the Sale Price

Look at several elements when you come up with the sale price for your RV. First, its current mileage and condition are two critical factors. First, buyers typically want a recreational vehicle ready for the road.

Another factor to consider is the price of other travel trailers for sale. Going too low or too high eliminates a good chunk of potential customers. If you feel your RV is much better than others listed, consider bumping the price up 10% to 15% above the listed items.

However, to get close to your asking price, you must provide as much detail as possible in your listing. First, limit the number of adjectives in your description. Instead, focus on the RVs benefits to intrigue customers.

In the end, selling your RV is simple as long as you follow this guide. Keep your vehicle clean and well-maintained, mention its many advantages, and establish a fair selling price to see a quick turnaround.
