There’s no doubt that the travelling we perform – be it via railways, airways or in camper vans – will always have a major impact on the environment. But, that doesn’t mean that we should stop travelling to our favourite locations altogether because there are too many beautiful places on earth that are left to be explored.

Hence, in case you’re planning to travel with your camper van on an exciting road trip, it’s also crucial that you stay eco-friendly and not create too many wastes. In this comprehensive blog post, we’ll be discussing some of the most important environment-friendly suggestions that you must keep in perspective while travelling in a camper van.

Proper Eco-Friendly Suggestions When Traveling In A Camper Van

1. Using Reusable Mugs/Cups

According to well-known camper rentals in Denver, it’s time to ditch the use of disposable cups/mugs and use reusable cups/mugs instead. With reusable cups, you can use them as much as you like and they can last you for a couple of years, without having to replace them.

Be it drinking coffee, tea or any beverage – you can use these reusable cups any way you want. Moreover, you’ll also be doing the environment a favour by cutting down on waste production.

Additionally, you can also invest in a high-quality insulated flask to keep your beverages hot and ready to consume.

2. Using Eco-Friendly Water Bottle

A water bottle is always an essential item to have with you, inside your camper van. However, refrain from using those cheap, repackaged water bottles and instead, invest in high-quality water bottles that can last you a long time.

It’s recommended that you purchase steel or aluminium water bottles instead of plastic ones because using plastic water bottles daily aren’t good for health (mainly because of the way plastic bottles are manufactured). Furthermore, steel or aluminium water bottles will always last you more than plastic ones.

Buying a one-litre water bottle would be a great size to have and you can buy a couple of those for each of your travelling partners. Every travel partner of yours should have his or her water bottle for usage.

You can invest in insulated water bottles as well, especially if you’re travelling in cold climates and you’d want to drink warm water all the time.

3. Using Reusable Bags

Another eco-friendly measure that you can take while travelling via camper vans is to use reusable plastic bags for keeping all your things and limiting the overall usage of disposable plastic bags. Disposable plastic bags are one of the major reasons why waste production has gone through the roof in recent years.

You can find reusable plastic bags with zippers available for purchase in most supermarkets and you can use them to keep your food items, your cosmetics, your mobile phone/laptop chargers and so on.

Apart from using reusable plastic bags, you can also utilise paper bags. Since paper can be easily recycled, you can use paper bags without any worries. However, do keep in mind that paper bags are not made for heavy-duty usage.

Additionally, you can also invest in some aluminium foils for packing food items and keeping them hot, such as sausages, sandwiches, tacos and so on. Moreover, instead of throwing the aluminium foils after usage, be sure to clean them and reuse them.

Closing Thoughts

Apart from following the above-mentioned suggestions, you can also proceed towards using eco-friendly soaps & shampoos, which are made from natural, organic ingredients and don’t pose much threat to the earth’s environment. Furthermore, when it comes to feminine hygiene, you can utilise menstrual cups instead of traditional sanitary napkins.

By following the aforementioned practices, you’ll not only make the earth a better place to live but also not feel guilty about travelling in your camper van.
