Perth is an interesting city situated in Western Australia on the coastline. It is a place known for its sandy beaches, excellent film locations, shopping, and entertainment venues.

The city’s population is quite small coming in at just under 2 million people. One of the most pleasant sides of the city is that it does not suffer from major congestion and as far as cities go, its air is relatively clean thanks to the ocean breeze and the excellently organised roads and city layout. On top of this, Perth has a lovely tropical climate making the city the perfect tourist hotspot.

Surrounding Perth and nearby to the city there is plenty of opportunity for adventure, and in this guide, you will read about two activities you must do when you visit Perth. This makes a 2-day visit to the city ideal if you are someone that would rather skip the shopping and entertainment scene.

Visit and Cycle Rottnest Island

Yes, Australia is hot at times so cycling in the heat and sun may not be your cup of tea, but this trip is well worth your while. For a start, you get to burn off a few calories, and by the end of your cycle trip around Rottnest Island, you will sleep like a baby.

On this trip, you will need to find a cycle company that will book the trip across the Indian Ocean to Rottnest. The island is free of cars so you will have the tracks and paths yourself. Plus, there are very few people here so you will find yourself with one of the 20 bays and a staggering 63 secluded beaches all to yourself making for the perfect picture opportunity.

You will also be able to get in some snorkelling in the bays, sunbathing on the beaches, and you should also stop for food at Karma Rottnest.

Visit the Swan Valley Wineries

Perth is world-renowned for its wine and you can pick up a bottle of Swan Valley wine in most good wine shops around the world. From the Far East to Eastern Europe, Swan Valley has visited numerous people’s homes – and probably yours at some point – so if you like wine, why not pay Swan Valley visit!

The best way to explore Swan Valley is limousine hire in Perth so you can travel in style with aircon and plenty of space for your trip. You will be able to visit the top 10 wineries in the region including the world-famous Sandalford Wines.

You will journey through vineyards before you arrive at the main building where you will be introduced to the huge and well laid out Sandalford Estate. You can try out all the different wines available here and then spoil yourself as you dine in the Sandalford Estate Restaurant; a restaurant that has deverbally won multiple awards.

Once you have completed your Sandalford Wines visit, you still have another 9 wineries to choose from! Fig Tree, Tyler’s Vineyard, Windy Creek Estate, Upper Reach Winery, Mandoon Estate Winery & Homestead Brewery, Harris Organic Wines, Providore, Olive Farm Wines, and Ugly Duckling Wines.

What Else Is There to Do in Perth?

If you are visiting Perth for more than a few days, you will still have more than enough activities to keep you busy. For one, you can simply waste away a few sunbathing on the beach during the day and indulging in some of Perth’s fine cuisine and nightlife by night. If you plan to cram in as many activities as you possibly can within a 1-week or more visit, then check out our Activities To Do In Perth, Western Australia blog.
