Koh Phangan is an island often associated with non-stop parties. However, there is also a quiet side of the island which is great for people seeking a serene environment to relax and enjoy. There is plenty to do, but you will have a better time when you have a plan. Before leaving Bangkok Koh Phangan, it is critical for you to find out everything you can if you are going to enjoy your journey and stay on the island.

Traveling by air is fastest, but Koh Phangan has no airport

You can go from Bangkok to Koh Phangan by bus, rail, or air. If you would like to get to the island in the shortest time possible, air travel is your best bet. However, it is critical for you to know that your flight will not land in Koh Phangan because there is no airport in the area. You will be flying to Koh and then take a ferry to Koh Phangan.

It is crucial to note that although this method of travel will get you to the island fastest, it will also be costlier compared to the other modes of travel. Before choosing the mode of travel, it is essential for you to analyze which cost you are willing to forego, money or time. If you have inadequate time and are willing to pay more, air travel is the best option.

Buy a combined rail, road and ferry ticket for easier travel

If you plan to travel by rail, it is essential for you to understand how long it will take you to get to Koh Phangan from Bangkok. This journey takes at least 12 hours. Most travelers prefer night travel since they sleep through most of the trip. Four trains depart from Hua Lamphong Station every night, and they arrive at Surat Thani Train station before 8 am. This station is on the mainland.

From the train station, you will take a bus to Don Sak Pier port for the ferry to Koh Phangan Island. Buying all the tickets you need before starting your journey will save you the time of going through the process of acquiring tickets when you get to the various stops. It is also easier to budget for your journey when you have all your tickets in hand.

Temperatures in Koh Phangan range between 25 - 34 degrees Celsius

Koh Phangan has hot, wet, and dry seasons. The dry season starts in December, through to April. This is also the coolest time in the year. Between May and September, the temperatures soar to above 30 degrees Celsius. The wet season is between October and December. The temperature during this period is pleasant, but you should expect strong winds and plenty of rain. If you are torn on when best to travel from Bangkok to Koh Phangan, the weather between June and August is excellent. However, if you would like to visit when there are fewer tourists, the Christmas and New Year period is usually a little quiet.

Knowing the weather in Koh Phangan and different ways to get there will help you to better plan your travel from Bangkok. Failure to plan can be costly, and your trip may not be as satisfying as you would have liked.
