If you've seen more golden beaches than you can care to remember, you're still wincing at the memory of last summer's sun burn or if you've given up on your bikini beach body, maybe it's time for something new. Why not try a city break?

As any savvy traveller knows, city breaks are a fantastic way to experience a new destination and get to grips with the local culture. From sightseeing to shopping, clubbing to cathedrals, there's so much to see and do. To help get you started, here's our take on the top 3 city break destinations - and why you'll fall in love with them.

Rome, Italy

Home of the haunting Colosseum, the magnificent Forum, the incredible Pantheon and as the former seat of the all-conquering Roman Empire, this is one city that's guaranteed to give the 'wow' factor. And of course, it's home to some knock-out designer boutiques - not to mention all those delicious pizza restaurants. What more could you want?

Paris, France

Two words: Eiffel Tower. Home to perhaps the most famous city landmark of all, Paris is the must-go destination for city slickers, whether you're a frequent traveller or a city break débutant. Tuck into a mouthwatering meal at a Parisian bistro, try some of the best wine in the business, or work your way around the city's many incredible sights. There are more must-sees than you can shake your Louboutins at, so be sure to plan ahead if you want to see everything!

New York, USA

The cream of the crop? We think so. New York is perhaps the most exciting city break destination of all, with its non-stop buzz and iconic world-famous landmarks. From the Empire State Building to Macy's, from a horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park to tucking into a heavily-loaded bagel, New York is THE city break experience.

Which one gets your vote?
