Florida’s Discovery Cove features a dizzyingly exciting variety of experiences that the entire family can enjoy together! The park offers everything from dolphin interactions to underwater walking tours, as well as many unique swimming adventures.
Dolphin Interaction
One of the highlights for a family visit to Discovery Cove is certainly the amazing dolphin interaction experience. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with a bottlenose dolphin in a half hour adventure that you will never forget! During the 30 minutes, guests form small groups where you paddle into shallow water to meet you special dolphin. Families will delight in exchanging kisses and hugs with the highly intelligent dolphin, as you learn more about these incredible marine mammals from their dedicated trainers and handlers. And without a doubt, the highlight of the adventure is a personal ride with your dolphin as it tows you back to shore using only its dorsal fin.
SeaVenture
Don’t miss the SeaVenture experience: enjoy a spectacular hour long walking tour that actually takes place underwater on the reef floor whilst you wear a special dive helmet. During your journey, you can personally greet sharks at eye level, content in the knowledge that they are safely enclosed behind huge panoramic windows. You can also physically touch some of the other interesting (and less dangerous) sea creatures. The walk concludes in a huge open reef area where hundreds of fish are feeding, making for quite an astounding family memory.
Explorer’s Aviary
Families can enter the Explorer’s Aviary for the delightful opportunity to interact with hundreds of beautiful exotic birds. Everyone will enjoy the peaceful sound of the bird song melodies and the gentle flapping of wings throughout the aviary. Children will be especially excited to learn that many of the birds will even land on them for a special greeting or perhaps to snack on some fruit from their hands! Freshwater Oasis
Freshwater Oasis is Discovery Cove’s newest interactive adventure where guests can encounter the funny antics of marmosets and otters. This section of the park features a rainforest canopy above crystal clear water where there are many fun opportunities to float or wade along the paths of water. Great for families of all ages, kids will particularly enjoy interacting with the furry creatures.
Serenity Bay
Serenity Bay is a gigantic temperature controlled pool where children can have a blast splashing around as their parents relax on shore soaking up some sun. This fun swimming area features several waterfalls to enjoy as well as a few coves to explore!
The Grand Reef
The Grand Reef is the perfect place for families to snorkel together as you swim along thousands of tropical fish and rays. You can even swim alongside sharks that are (very) safely enclosed behind the vast glass windows!
Wind-away River
The Wind-away River is perhaps the ultimate in relaxation and a particular favourite of most parents (for obvious reasons)! This gentle lazy river attraction features a slow current that carries you through numerous environments such as an underwater cave, a thick rain forest, sandy beaches and even several cascading waterfalls.
