Many adventurous travelers set out to explore exotic Dubai, India. Visitors will find a host of unique activities available to them, including the opportunity to ski indoors at the Dubai Emirates Mall. There are wonderful water parks where visitors can enjoy all sorts of water activities including meeting dolphins up close and personal or just lounging on a beautiful white sand beach. Day trips are available either by vehicle or even camel ride for the truly adventurous. It is possible to even find yourself high above Dubai enjoying one of their hot air balloon rides. You won’t run out of fun and interesting things to do, but don’t forget to keep your energy levels up by enjoying Dubai’s exciting and excellent cuisine. You can experience many of the wonderful foods of this region and at a great price too.

Bikanervala

One such affordable restaurant is Bikanervala, part of a chain of vegetarian restaurants based in New Delhi. A popular feature here is bite-size pani puri, which are water breads filled with vegetable sprouts, spiced liquids, and crunchy bits full of flavor. These are made one at a time and served immediately to ensure their crunchiness and maximum flavor. Another tasty dish is a crispy fried paper dosa that is filled with curries, potato or paneer which is homemade cheese. For those with simpler tastes, sandwiches and pizzas are available. Yogurt drinks and custards are offered, as well as silver-topped pastries as one of the desserts. This restaurant is well-known for its sweets and you can be sure to find a more than satisfying dessert to follow your meal.

Simran’s Aappa Kadai

Simran’s Aappa Kadai Restaurant offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods in a wide array of cuisines. Many delicious dishes are offered here, including freshly-caught fish from the Indian Ocean which are served in a variety of mouth-watering ways. For something very different, try this restaurant’s truly unique banana leaf meal. Rice, fish, bread, meat, condiments and curries are all offered up on a banana leaf. Their signature dishes include Chicken Kheema Aappam, Bull’s Eye Egg Aappam and Aappam with Chicken Stew. This is an all-day restaurant.

Kalha

Kalha is a Palestinian restaurant quite famous for its delicious falafel. The chickpea croquettes are oversized and fried to order and very tasty. Another wonderful offering is chicken mussekhan with fried onions and sumac. This is served between two pieces of pita bread which are baked again so the bread will absorb the chicken fat making this dish very rich. This restaurant is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.

These are only three of Dubai’s delicious but inexpensive restaurants. The city is fairly teeming with all kinds of places serving a variety of ethnic foods and ready to welcome visitors with open hearts. Whether you choose a sit-down restaurant, a food cart or one of the many sidewalk cafes, you are sure to enjoy yourself. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting to return again and again for a new-found favorite meal. Bon Appetit!
