Afternoon Tea at Gleneagles

  • October 29, 2012
  • Jules

Afternoon tea takes place in The Bar at the Gleneagles Hotel, every day between 2pm and 5pm. The atmosphere in the elegant Art Deco surroundings is one of luxury and opulence, stylishly reminiscent of the roaring twenties. However, The Bar at Gleneagles is most convivial, a relaxed and contemporary retreat, welcoming all visitors. Attention to detail, is one of the most charming things about time spent at Gleneagles, even the highest of expectations will be met. The hotel prides itself on the attentiveness of its staff and individual service, with much ceremony and grandeur surrounding the presentation of afternoon tea.

When you are comfortably seated, you can choose from a variety of tempting delights, from the savoury to the sweet. These are offered alongside a selection of the finest teas, or champagne if you choose the premium package. The menu offers guests a variety of classical British favourites, with a modern twist. You’ll find the culinary expertise is both a treat for the eyes and your taste buds, appearing in generous amounts.

On offer are three afternoon tea options, the first is the Classic Gleneagles Afternoon Tea. You will be served a selection of finger sandwiches, containing delicacies such as egg mayonnaise and micro cress, beef with horseradish, or cream cheese and cucumber. Mini sausage rolls are also available, followed by desert. In fitting with the grand surroundings, cream scones and French pastries are served on an elegant three tier stand.

Your second option is The Gleneagles Cream Tea, you can expect a selection of savoury and sweet scones, followed by French pastries and fine teas. Thirdly, the most luxurious option is The Ruinart Rose Champagne Afternoon Tea. Guests are treated to a glass of champagne from the prestigious Ruinart vineyards, before sampling items from both the Classic and Cream Tea menus.

Nestled in the rural heart of Perthshire, afternoon tea at Gleneagles is the perfect treat for someone special – or a treat for yourself. With Christmas coming fast around the corner, a Gleneagels gift voucher – be it for afternoon tea, a round of golf, or a pampering at the spa – can make for a totally unique and original Christmas present. Either that, or it is a great way to get something in advance that is sure to blow away those January blues.
