I’m sure we could all think of a contender for the title of the biggest fool! To be called the biggest fool of 2009 is however the most sought after honour this week at Muncaster Castle.

The annual Festival of Fools is being held at Muncaster Castle in Ravenglass, Cumbria in England. There are performances from international jesters, comedians and walkabout artists and all are competing for the coveted Fool of Muncaster title.

The event is now in its fifth year and features five days of complete madness, mayhem and merriment with appearances from previous year’s winners. The event culminates in the International Jester Tournament on the final day.

There is fun for all the family with a daily magic workshop, paintball, archery and trampolines. You can also take a spin on the ferris wheel, try the inflatable slide and get your face painted.

So what are you waiting for? Pull on your pixie boots, put on your jester’s hat and work those crowds! You never know, you could be the biggest fool of 2009, although you’ll have to work hard to beat some recent contenders! Nominations please…
