Tour Highlights
Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations in India. It is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Located at 1600 Mts above sea level, this was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Landscape, seriously, is quite similar like Scotland.
Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make Munnar a unique experience. Munnar is essentially a tea town. The tea plantations have now been taken over by the Tata Tea Company. The visitor is greeted with miles and miles of unending tea plantations on entry into Munnar, which is exchanging with fields of coffee, cardamom, peper, banana, mango, coconut and eucalyptus. Pure paradise. Among the exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands here is the Neelakurinji a flower which bathes the hills in blue colour once in twelve years. The Neelakurinji will bloom next in 2018 AD, however, individual blossoms could be found every year. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi - which towers over 2695 meters and is highest mountain in India out of Himalaya. We will visit tea plantations and tea museum, Mattupetty dam, echo point, Rayamala wildlife sanctuary (home of the last Thar mountain goats) and hill station in Tamil Nadu, more than 2000 meters above the sea level.
With the Arabian Sea on the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water river criss crossing it, Alappuzha (Alleppy) is a district of immense natural beauty. Referred to as the Venice of the East by travellers from across the world, this backwater country is also home to diverse animal and bird life. By virtue of its proximity to the sea, the town has always enjoyed a unique place in the maritime history of Kerala. In that Indian Venice, you will enter into Houseboat, traditional boat for rice transport. Next 22 hours will be yours: cruising under coconut palm trees, you will have on board your lunch, dinner and breakfast, your own cook and crew. You will overnight in houseboat.
"Kovalam" means a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees. Beaches with gold sand, palm trees and emerald sea presents typical image of the paradise. We will have site seeing of the surroundings and time to bath, swim and enjoy. Just to see, how Gods own country looks like, we will also do a walk to the symbol of the town, Kovalam lighthouse. From there, we will admire unforgettable viwew to the surroundings.
Kanyakumari is located in Tamil Nadu and represents site where the spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda spent days in meditation upon a rock off of the coast.
