Itinerary
Day 01. Early departure from your hotel in Bangkok to Bang Pa In, the former summer residence of the Chakri Royal Family. After a walk around the large and well maintained site, you take a long tail boat ride to Ayutthaya, where you take your lunch at a river restaurant. In the afternoon you will visit the historic temples and rouines of the former Siamese Capital Ayutthaya, like Wat Sri Sampeht and Wat Chai Yai Mongkol Bopith. Dinner and overnight at a middle class hotel in Ayutthaya.
Day 02. After breakfast at the hotel you depart via Suphanburi and further to Kanchanaburi. Lunch at a local restaurant along the route. Early afternon you reach a pier, where you take a long tail boat for the ride on the River Kwae Noi. Approximately a 10 minutes drive upstream are the Jungle Rafts chained like pearls along the river banks. The resort consists of simple rustic bamboo rafts, lovely build and decorated only with natural materials. Every visitor immediately feels in harmony with the nature, which is breathtakingly unfolding around the rafts - jungle covered mountains on both sides of the river. There is no electricity on the rafts, kerosene lamps are provided in the evening. In the middle of the raft-chain there is an open restaurant. Enjoy the unique atmosphere and nature while relaxing in the hammock in front of your room or take a swim in the river. After dinner you will enjoy a traditional dance performance of the Burmese Mon.
Day 03. After breakfast at the resort you start an a half day excursion by boat / minibus to the Hellfire Pass. Lunch will be served at the Jungle Raft. In the afternoon you got time for own activities, like a walk to the nearby Mon village, a traditional massage or just for enjoying the river and the nature. Dinner and overnight.
Day 04. After breakfast you return by boat to the pier, where your minibus is waiting already. After a short drive you reach the Wang Po Elephant Camp, where you take a 45 minutes elephant ride through the jungle and the shallow river banks, followed by a Bamboo Rafting trip. After the 30 minute rafting tour you will watch a performance of the working elephants. After lunch at Tham Krasae you will ride a short distance in the famous "Death Train" along the spectacular Wang Po Viaduct. After you visit the historic Cambodian temple Phrasat Muang Sing, which was build by the Khmer during the early Angkor Period. In the late afternoon you arrive at the Felix River Kwae Hotel in Kanchanaburi, where you still have some time to enjoy the beautiful large garden and pool area. Dinner at a river restaurant and overnight.
Day 05. After breakfast you visit the JEATH World War II museum, the Allied War Cemetery and the Bridge Over The River Kwae. After lunch at a river restaurant starting your way back to Bangkok. Arrival in Bangkok in the afternoon.
