| Pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai or from the Airport. Transfer to the Park Hotel (or similar) and check-in. After lunch at a local restaurant you drive up the Suthep Mountain of Chiang Mai and visit the spectacular Wat Doi Suthep Temple with it's golden Chedi, which provides a spectacular view over the city on clear days. | |
| After breakfst youdepart for the jungle area North of Chiang Mai and visit an Elephant Camp. You will see the elephants being washed in the river by their mahout and see a demonstration of how trained elephant used to work in the jungle. You can also ride an elephant (extra charge). At an Orchid Nursery, you will explore hundreds of special of rare and colorful blooms. Lunch will be providing at a local restaurant in the Orchid farm. Visit Sakamphaeng; with it’s Thai silk and cotton handlooms; Bor Sarng, the paper and umbrella – making village the Celadon kilns with its exquisite, traditional high – fired stoneware factories. | After breakfast you drive in northern direction to Chiang Rai and continue to the Bordertown Mae Sai. This town is the top northern point of Thailand and well known for it's border market, selling products from the neighboring Myanmar (Burma) as well as from China. You will have time to walk over the bustling market and watch people from Burma as well as the hill tribes, buying and selling products at Mae Sai. After lunch we proceed to Chiang Saen, the heart of the Golden Triangle, where you take a long-tail boat ride across the Mekong River, drive along the Burmese side and visit a village at the Lao side. In the late afternoon return to Chiang Rai and your accommodation. | |
