| Departure from your hotel in Bangkok. After a visit of the Summer Palace Bang Pa-In you proceed to Ayuttahya, the former Capital of Thailand, which was destroyed by the Burmese in 1776. You will see the most important temples and have lunch at a local restaurant, before continuing to Sukothai, the first Capital of Siam. Overnight at Sukothai. | |
| After breakfast you will visit the historical town of Sukothai with it's ruins dating back to the 13th Century. We visit Wat Mahatat, the former Royal Temple and Wat Sri Chum with the 14 meter high sitting Buddha Statue, as well as the ruins at Sri Satchanalai. After lunch at a local restaurant you continue to Chiang Mai. Overnight at Chiang Mai. | |
| After breakfast we drive up the Suthep Mountain of Chiang Mai and visit the spectacular Wat Doi Suthep Temple with it's golden Chedi. After lunch at a local restaurant you visit an orchid farm and the famous handy crafts village of Chiang Mai, where teak wood carvings, silver articles, Sa-Paper umbrellas and Thai Silk are produced. | After breakfast we leave Chiang Mai in western dirsction to Pai, passing a beautiful jungle covered mountains. You will visit villages of the Lisu and Lahu hilltribes and the Tam Lord Cave and the Fish Cave. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we arrive Mae Hong son. Overnight at the eco-tourism Fern Resort. | |
| After breakfast you depart to the Elephant Camp for a 1 hour elephant ride through the jungle.Later return to the town for a city tour of Mae Hong Son, where the Burmese and Shan (Thai Yai) cultures can still be seen at Wat Phrathat Doi Kong Moo, Wat Jong Kham and Wat Jong Klang. After lunch we depart for Ban Nai Soi village to visit the Padong Hill tribe village, home of the long neck woman, one kind of the Karen Hill tribes who encircle their necks with rings.
