Observation of the Wild Bears - With an all terrain vehicle, our hunter will take you in to the forest on one of lookouts, which is built above wild animals feeding place. During the walk, we will learn more about natural habitat and behavior of the wild brown bear in Slovenia. Then we will settle on watch, patience could provide an opportunity to spot game or bear. Spotting a wild bear is 70% - 90% likely and the possibility to spot deer is even higher. We must remain in complete silence. For the perfect photo moment, the lookout is 7 meters high and 35 meters from feeding place. 35 EUR

| Start from Ljubljana parking place Hala Tivoli/your place at 15:30. Our first stop will be 1300 meters high karst plain called Nanos, which separates Slovenian Mediterranean region from Continental parts. We will have short walk to the top and enjoying in beautiful green panorama of the surrounding areas. Then bus will take us to our high quality farm home stay, which is located near Cerknica town. Cerknica is famous place because of the unique natural phenomenon – impermanent Lake called Cerknica Lake. After accommodation and dinner, observation of wild bears is possible (see details section). | |
| After breakfast we will leave towards Stari trg pri Ložu, romantic village between vast forests. After arrival, we will meet with hunter/guide, who will lead us through mysterious trails into the woods. During walk, we will learn a lot about natural habitat of wild animals, also large carnivores which are constantly present in Slovenia (wolf, European lynx and brown bear). It is a great chance, that we will spot bear and maybe wolf footprints, which will awake in us our prehistoric fear and rush of adrenalin. This makes this adventure very special and unforgettable. On our way, we will stop in hunter’s cottage where we will have lunch and rest. After return to the valley, transfer to Križna cave will follow. Križna Cave is Slovenian underground jewel, especially widely known about its 50 cave lakes with crystal clear water. Cave is highly protected, unilluminated and non commercial. Because of that, we will dress cave suits and get cave headlights. Like true cave researchers we will explore dark world and also take a boat trip across one cave Lake. After visit, bus will drive us back to our farm stay, where after dinner we will have demonstration of hunting with hunting dog. | In the morning, we will continue our trip with visit of Snežnik Castle, completely resorted hunters chateau, still undiscovered by the masses. This architectural pearl was part of the history home of famous Lamberg family and its first foundations are nearly 700 years old. We will step inside and with local guide and inspect completely preserved original interior with furniture and other castle necessities. After visit of the castle, we will stop at wild shores of the Cerknica Lake. Depends from a rain and season, lake could be filled with water (at that moment, this is the biggest lake in Slovenia), or almost completely empty. At the lakes shore, horse carriage will wait for us and take us around. For finish, you could also try riding on horses. We will conclude our adventure to our farm stay with lunch. |
