Lake Toba is among the deepest crater lakes in the world. It rests in the crater of one of Sumatra 's many volcanoes. The 650 square mile lake is almost 1500 feet deep. It is a perfect place to relax and take in the spectacular views of scenic mountain slopes surrounding the lake.

Itinerary
Day 01. Travel by private transportation from Bukit Lawang or Medan to Berastagi. Lunch followed by a stroll around local fruit and flower markets or exploration of the local Batak Karo villages.
Day 02. Early morning climb up Sibayak or Sinabung volcano. Descend to the volcano base and take the opportunity to relax in the hot springs. After lunch embark on the picturesque journey through pine forest, terraced plantations and verdant meadows to Lake Toba, stopping at the magnificent Sipiso Piso waterfall en route. Arrive at Parapat and take the ferry to Samosir Island. Settle into hotel accommodation on the edge of the Lake.
Day 03. Island tour around Samosir Island. Of special interest in this area are the small museum and cultural center at Simanindo and a local Batak kingís residence at Ambarita. Also take the opportunity to visit a traditional Batak Toba house, a traditional dance, traditional tombs and a sarong maker. Itís also possible to visit the local market or just kick back and swim and relax by the lake.
Day 04. Spend the day relaxing by the lake or perhaps visit the hot springs. The car and driver will be at your disposal during your stay.
Day 05. Return by private transportation direct to Medan (5 hours)
