Itinerary
Day 01. Vilnius; Arrival and overnight in Vilnius.
Day 02. Vilnius; The beggining point of your trip being Lithuania, we suggest you to see its capital Vilnius - the largest and the most beautiful city in the country. Gediminas Tower (15th century), St. Anne’s Church, the Cathedral, the Church of St. Peter and Paul, the University architectural ensemble and many other sights should be visited in Vilnius. Evening is entirely at your disposal. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 03. Vilnius – Sigulda (350 km); In the morning, continue the tour to Siauliai – one of the most modern, totally rebuilt in the after war period, the fourth biggest town of Lithuania. We highly recommend you to visit The Hill of Crosses , a holy place with thousands of crosses brought from all over the world (located about 17km in the North of Siauliai). En route visit the splendid 18th century's Rundale Palace - the former residence of the Duke of Kurland. When passing Riga you should take the turn to Sigulda. Overnight in Sigulda.
Day 04. Sigulda – Tartu (200 km); Sigulda town is located in the Gauja National Park. This park is also called Latvian Switzerland or Eldorado of the nature lovers. On your way to Tartu, visit to the Turaida Castle and Cesis town. Overnight in Tartu.
Day 05. Tartu – Tallinn (185 km); After visiting historical university town Tartu, continue the tour to Laahema national park distanced 70km to the East of Tallinn. This park is famous for the colourful forests and amazing panoramas – a nice walk here will refresh your soul. Continue your tour to Tallinn. Overnight in Tallinn.
Day 06. Tallinn; Tallinn, a city of seven centuries, bears marks of its varied history. A fascinating mixture of old and new is Tallinn, a town of pewter-coloured steeples, red roofs, quaint alleyways, and numerous towers like gigantic pepperboxes and a treasure of medieval architecture. Overnight in Tallinn.
Day 07. Tallinn – Riga (310 km); From Tallinn drive to Parnu, Estonian summer resort, cross the Latvian-Estonian border and continue along the coast to Riga. Overnight in Riga.
Day 08. Riga; Discover this lovely town. At one time or another, Germans, Russians and Jews have all left their indelible marks on Riga - before World War II known as the Paris of the North. The city is the mixture of old and new, which is especially seen on the architecture of the Old Town. This is also a city where some of its buildings have a sense of humor. Walk with your head up and eyes peeled for architectural wonders that you are not likely to have seen anywhere else before. Overnight in Riga.
Day 09. Riga-Liepaja (220 km); Today continue your tour through towns as Tukums, Kandava and Kuldiga - famous for their uniqueness and nature wonders. The final point is Liepaja. Overnight in Liepaja.
Day 10. Liepaja-Klaipeda (100 km); After discovering the town of Liepaja, drive straight to the Lithuanian border. From there it will only take you 43km to reach the third largest Lithuanian city Klaipeda. Overnight in Klaipeda.
Day 11. Klaipeda - Mosedis - Salantai - Kretinga - Klaipeda (50 km); Travel to Palanga, which is prime sea and health resort of Lithuania. You will visit the Botanical Garden with the Palace of the Count Tiskevicius, which now houses the Amber Museum. The trip will continue in Mosedis, situated about 45 km from Palanga. The town is a live stone museum - wherever you go - the stones are on your way. The trip will continue to Salantai - the museum of chaos and absurd. On the way to Palanga you can make a stop in Kretinga’s Winter Garden, where a nice dinner is served. Overnight in Klaipeda.
Day 12. Curonian Spit (100 km); After breakfast, a trip to Nida - the administrative center of the Curonian Spit. Walk on the Hill of Witches in the fishing village of Juodkrante, enjoy an unforgettable view from majestic 60-metre-high seashore dunes and visit Thomas Mann summer-house in Nida. Return to Klaipeda. Overnight in Klaipeda
Day 13. Klaipeda-Kaunas (220 km); Before going to Kaunas, we offer you to take the highway leading to Silute. When you will approach a town Jurbarkas – you will see river Nemunas (the biggest Lithuanian river) on your right. On all the way to Kaunas you will see a beautiful panoramic view and attractions such as Veliuona (Renaissance church) and Raudone castle, Raudondvaris and Panemune castles. Arrival to Kaunas- the second largest town of Lithuania. You will have an entire afternoon to have a walk in the Old Town (Kaunas castle, Town hall, Vytautas church) and attractive pedestrian streets. Overnight in Kaunas.
Day 14. Kaunas – Vilnius (100 km); Before leaving Kaunas, we offer you to visit M.K.Ciurlionis museum. The artist was famous not only in Lithuania, but also in the West Europe for his attempt to combine colours with the music sounds. When driving back to Vilnius we offer you to visit Trakai. It is located appr.20 km from Vilnius. Trakai is the ancient capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, surrounded by lakes. The castle, which was built by the Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas, stands on an island in lake Galve. Now the castle houses the Museum of History and Applied Arts. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 15. Departure; Delivery of your car to Vilnius airport. Departure.
