|ARRIVAL IN LIMA. Arrival in Lima. After customs, you will find our representative waiting for you to pick you up and take you to the hotel. Upon your arrival at the hotel, our representative will assist you during the check-in and will give you your travel documents. Overnight in Lima. Meals included: none|
|LIMA. You will have a tour through Lima’s streets and plazas. Starting at the Love Parkin Miraflores, with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, then you will go to San Isidro, financial center of the city to visit the Huaca Huallamarca, ancient pre-Incan shrine. After this, you will visit the Historical Center: Plaza Mayor ( Main Square ), the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the City Hall and old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish balconies. You will also explore the Santo Domingo convent. Finally you will return to the hotel. Overnight in Lima. Meals included: Breakfast|
|LIMA – AREQUIPA. Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the hotel. One hour and twenty five minutes to Arequipa city. Arrival in Arequipa, meeting with our local representative and transfer to the hotel. This might be your first experience in high altitude; Arequipa is located at 2,335 m.a.s.l (7682 ft) and it helps a lot to be prepared for the rest of the journey. AREQUIPA CITY TOUR. In the afternoon, you will start with the half-day private city tour of Arequipa, a city that lies at the foot of the beautiful Misti volcano. On the main square (Plaza de Armas) you will see the Cathedral with its Carrara marble altar, the huge Belgian organ and the magnificent pulpit, carved in Lille, France. You will then continue to the Jesuit church of La Compañia, with its beautifully painted chapel and carved volcanic stone arcades. Also, a visit to Yanahuara area is included, with its famous viewpoint from where it is possible to have a complete view of the city and the surrounding volcanoes. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the Santa Catalina convent. This convent, closed to the public for almost 400 years until 1970, is still home to a few cloistered nuns. The tour provides an insight to the isolated past live of the nuns, mostly daughters of the wealthy Spanish nobility, led in this attractive setting with its picturesque narrow streets and courtyards. |AREQUIPA – COLCA. After breakfast, departure by road towards the Colca Valley located at 3,490 m.a.s.l (11,483 ft.). The whole journey will take 4 hours and on the way you will cross the Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve, with the highest population of Andean flora and fauna and where you will easily see llamas, alpacas and vicuñas among others living in their natural habitat. During this trip you will cross Patapampa, a plain above 4,786 m.a.s.l (15,748 ft.) from where you will find a strategic point to see the Chila mountain range and its great amount of volcanoes: Mismi, Chucura, Huaracante, and far away the Ubinas, Misti, Chachani, Ampato, Sabancaya and Hualca Hualca.The arrival at Chivay town is expected by midday. There you will have lunch. After that, you will be transferred to the selected accommodation and in the afternoon, you will visit La Calera hot springs located 2 miles away from Chivay, where you can take a relaxing bath (entrance fee is not included but is quite inexpensive). You can also visit the Ethnological Museum. Return to the hotel where you will take dinner and enjoy of a show with typical dances. Overnight in Colca. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.|
|COLCA – PUNO. An early start for a great day! After breakfast, you will begin the journey through the main towns of the valley until reaching Yanque, where you will appreciate its typical dances exposed in the main square, then a short visit to its site museum that exhibits a collection of textiles. Then, departure towards La Cruz del Condor , the best spot to observe the deepness of the canyon of 11,155 ft deep and 124 miles long and also the place from where almost always is possible to see the majestic fly of the condor. You can also choose for a short walk (45 min.) along a path at the edge of the canyon. After enjoying of this this spectacular view you will return to Chivay. On the way back visit some very interesting typical towns, pre-Inca hanging tombs and terraces. Arrival at Chivay to have lunch. Right after lunch, you will be transferred to the bus stop to take the 5 hours tourist bus to Puno city. Arrival in Puno, meeting with our local representative and transfer to the hotel. |UROS FLOATING ISLANDS & LLACHON PENINSULA. A full day tour to explore Titicaca Lake. Your first stop will be the Uros floating islands located at 40 minutes away from Puno city. Uros is the name of the ancient inhabitants of the Titicaca lake.. They have periodically built their own islands by weaving and adding stratified Totora which is a unique reed that grows in that area only. Here you will have the opportunity of navigate a typical totora boat and share with locals. Then, you will continue your trip to Capachica Peninsula for visiting the rural community of Llachon that hosts unique characteristics of alive culture, as well as biodiversity and archeological resources. In this beautiful place, you will share and learn about the behavior of this friendly people and even have lunch with them. You will also have the facility to wear typical clothes as well as learn their customs. In the afternoon, you will take your boat back to Puno. |BUS RIDE TO CUSCO. Meeting with your guide at the hotel and transfer to the bus station. You will expend this day on a 9 hours bus journey to Cusco city. On the way you will stop to visit all the attractions located on the route. Your first stop will be Pucara Museum. The bus ride continues to La Raya, natural border between Puno and Cusco. Sicuani will be the next stop where you will enjoy a great buffet lunch. You will go back to the bus to visit Racchi, Temple of the Wiracocha god where the walls and narrow streets stand out. Before your final destination, you will stop at Andahuaylillas for a visit to its beautiful chapel. You will arrive in Cusco at the end of the afternoon and transfer to the hotel by your local guide. |CUSCO. Enjoy a free morning in Cusco city. CUSCO CITY TOUR. You will start with a tour that will show you the amazing colonial city built on the foundations of the Inca palaces and in the shape of a Puma, a holy animal in the Inca beliefs. You will visit the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate the incredible masonry of the Incas, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral with its carved woodworks, altars and paintings. Then you will be driven to Sacsayhuaman, a massive Inca fortress located just outside of Cusco. |PISAC MARKET & OLLANTAYTAMBO FORTRESS. You will be driven through a scenic landscape to the Sacred Valley of the Incas or Urubamba Valley. Arriving at the town of Pisac, located at an hour drive from Cusco, you will visit the colorful Pisac Market, where local people meet to sell or exchange their merchandise as they have done it for centuries. If you would like to taste something, try a piece of bread or a delicious corn. There is also a market where you will find colorful handcraft, textiles, pottery, silver jewelry, etc. Continue with the tour, you will stop in a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. The tour continues to the town of Ollantaytambo from where you will climb up to its imposing Inca fortress at the top of the mountain and have one of the best views of the Valley. |MACHU PICCHU. Early in the morning, your guide will meet you at your hotel to take you to Ollanta Train Station where the train will be waiting to transfer you to Machu Picchu, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Upon your arrival in Machu Picchu town (also known as Aguas Calientes) your local guide will be waiting for you to assist you on boarding your bus up to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Lost in history, it was not discovered until 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham. After a guided -private tour of the ruins, you will have a self-service lunch at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge and then some free time to explore the citadel by your own. |HUAYNA PICCHU MOUNTAIN – SACRED VALLEY. Free morning to climb up the Huayna Picchu Mountain (Young Mountain). From the top of the mountain it is possible to find some archeological remains and take the best pictures of the citadel. |MARAS & MORAY. Finalize your adventure in the Sacred Valley of the Incas visiting two great sites. Over an old huge plateau, is located Moray, an agricultural terrace complex and are one of the most beautiful Inca creations. You will continue along Andes from which it is possible to observe the range of mountains of Urubamba towards Maras the famous Inca salt mines are constituted by about 3000 small pools, constructed in a slope of a mountain.
