| Arrival Kuching / City Tour. Meet and greet at Kuching International Airport. Proceed for Kuching City Tour. The tour includes the visit of the Tua Pek Kong Temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Sarawak, built in 1876 and view the Fort Margarita and New Legislative State Assembly of Sarawak from Kuching Waterfront. Proceed to the modern Civic Center to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Drive by St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the Syariah (Muslim) Court, traditional Malay houses built on stilts and the mosque built along the riverbank. Winding through the heart of the city, look out for the majestic Astana, the former palace of the White Rajahs, now the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak. Stop for few minutes in front of the old colonial Court House, complete with a Clock Tower and a granite obelisk built in memory of the second White Rajah, Charles Brooke. The highlight of the tour is the visit of the Sarawak Museum, one of the finest in South East Asia. It is a treasure house of artifacts and exhibits with great archaeological and cultural significance. After the tour, transfer to the hotel for check in. Overnight at hotel. | |
| Bako National Park [Breakfast/Lunch] Breakfast at the hotel. 08:30hrs pick-up from Hotel’s lobby to commence a full day trip to Bako National Park, a scenic drive this morning will bring you to Bako Fishing Village Jetty, where you will board an exciting motorized boat ride takes you to marvel at the abundant natural beauty of Sarawak's most popular National Park. Trek along the trails to spot wildlife in its natural surroundings including the proboscis monkeys, the monitor lizards, bearded pigs, silver leaf of monkeys and more than one hundred species of birds. The stunning tropical rainforest ranges from the mangrove swamp forest to kerangas (Health forest) to cliff and beach vegetations. Exotic plants found along the trails include the several species of pitcher plants and wild orchids. You may end your trekking at a beautiful secluded swimming beach. Local lunch will be served in the Park's canteen. After lunch you will have your time to explore the wildlife and vegetation around the Parks Headquarter on your own or take a walk together with your guide along one of the other short trails around the Headquarter. | Gunung Gading National Park [Breakfast/Lunch] Breakfast at the hotel. 08:30hrs depart for a 2 hours drive to the Gunung Gading National Park. The park was gazette in 1983, primarily to provide a conservation area for the Rafflesia, an extraordinary plant, which are threatened with extinction. From the parks Headquarter you will start a 1 – 1.5 hours fairly easy trail with a few steep sections along the Lundu River which passes seven waterfalls, although not all of the waterfalls are accessible. Waterfalls three, five and seven are signposted and the trail passes through stately dipterocarp forest. The seventh waterfall is in a narrow, rocky valley surrounded by dense forest with an attractive pool of crystal clear water where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool and have your packed lunch. After this experience you will take the trail back to the Parks Headquarter from where you will return back to Kuching. Please note: We cannot guarantee a blooming Rafflesia at all time. If a Rafflesia can be seen at the Park, the group first will proceed to the location of this Rafflesia and have their time to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience before we will continue with the Waterfall Trail. | Kuching - Royal Mulu Resort [Breakfast/Dinner] Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from Hotel’s lobby to Kuching International Airport for flight (TBA) to Miri and connect flight (TBA) to Mulu. Transfer from Mulu Airport to Royal Mulu Resort for check in. In the afternoon the tour continues with a 3-km plank walk through the jungle to the Deer & Langs Caves. After visiting the caves we will wait on the observation platform for the bats coming out of the Cave. Return to the Resort late evening for dinner and overnight. | |
| Mulu Show Caves Tour [Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner] Breakfast in the resort. This morning you will be taken for a longboat ride up the Melinau River to visit the Wind and the Clearwater Caves. En route stop at the Penan settlement of Batu Bungan who offer handmade handicrafts for sale. Low water level may require pushing the boat over rapids. Cruise past the Batu Bungan cliff with its charming myth. After exploring Wind and Clearwater Caves, have lunch at Clearwater shelter. You can opt to swim at the Clearwater pool or just enjoy the rainforest tranquility. Return to Royal Mulu Resort late evening for dinner and overnight. | |
| Mulu - Kota Kinabalu [Breakfast] Breakfast in the resort. After breakfast you're free to explore the surrounding Mulu area on your own before your transfer from Mulu airport for flight (TBA) to Miri and connect flight (TBA) to Kota Kinabalu and transfer to the Hotel for check in and overnight. | |
| Kinabalu Park / Poring Hot Spring / Canopy Walk [Breakfast/Lunch] Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, drive 2 hours overland (88 km) through padi-fields and Dusun villages over the ridges of the Crocker Range to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu at 5,000ft, to arrive at the park headquarters at Kundasang. Visit the Visitor Centre and Mountain Garden; home to some of the 24 species of flowering rhododendrons, 10 species of carnivorous pitcher plants, estimated 1,400 species of orchids, over 600 species of ferns, more than 40 species of oak trees and over 300 species of birds. Lunch at Park canteen. After lunch, continue 40 km journey to Poring. Explore tropical rainforest among the jungle trail leading to the treetop canopy walkways suspended 41 meters above the forest floor before returning to Kota Kinabalu and transfer to the Hotel for overnight. | |
| Kota Kinabalu - Sandakan - Sepilok - Sukau [Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner] After breakfast, 05:30hrs pick up from the hotel and transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport for departure flight MH2042 to Sandakan. Drive for approximately 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform. 1000hrs feeding of Orang Utan and see a video presentation of their rehabilitation. 11:10-11:15hrs depart Sepilok and transfer to jetty in Sandakan. 1145-1200hrs take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. After Lunch, free and relax at our nature board walk before cruising for searching other wildlife until the sunsets while enjoying a cup of coffee and by night falls continue the night cruise to witness the fire flies as Christmas tree. Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, again experience the Jungle at night at our nature boardwalk to search for birds, snakes, insects and other wildlife with nature guide. | Pitas Ox-Bow Lake / Tree Planting / River Cruise [Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner] Wake up by the calls of nature. Early morning take a river trip to the Pitas oxbow lake to observe wildlife and experience the unique of Pitas Lake. After breakfast, an option to join our tree planting project with the locals and lunch with them at Abai village or Abai Jungle Restaurant. This project especially to help the locals. After lunch, you are free to explore the nature board walk behind the lodge, make sure you bring along your binoculars. Look out for any moving trees, you might have the chance to spot the wild orang utan, silver leaf monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Late afternoon, another river cruise to search for different wildlife. Overnight at Abai Jungle Lodge. | |
| Nature Board Walk / Wet Market Sandakan - Airport [Breakfast/Simple Lunch-airport] In the morning, you are free to view more birds/wildlife and enjoy a cup of coffee at our nature board walk. After breakfast, take another one hour boat cruise back to Sandakan. Upon arrival at jetty, visit to the biggest and the busiest Central Market located at the heart of Sandakan with nice Sea view, not forgetting to drop by at the Souvenir shop. 11:00hrs transfer to the airport for your flight (preferably MH 2047) departure to Kota Kinabalu and connect onward flight departure. |
