We are flexible when it comes to what months to visit as all months can be rewarding in many different ways but heres a little bit of advice on what happens during the season Oct - December is Peak/High season wildlife is plentiful in all areas with even pockets of the migration still hanging around in Northern Serengeti - lodges however can be very difficult to get, if you are planning a safari for Dec: then we will have to start to look in to availability in all sectors straight away - January and Feb still excellent game viewing to be had these months are the driest and hottest so plenty of wildlife congregating around water holes and rivers grasses are short making it easier to spot the big cats - March, April and May heading into low season can also be very rewarding with the annual migration of the wildebeest that congregate in the Ngorongoro conservation area (NCA) they begin to calf throughout April and slowly as the months get dryer again move in a Northern direction back into the Western side of Serengeti finally massing around central Serengeti from June and remain there as long as there is food and water The parks are quieter throughout the low season with very little tourist cars and generally it is very green as throughout April and May are the rainy season track conditions can be interesting and some flights into the smaller bush strips close until June June / July the season official kicks off again, grasses are fairly long during these months so some game can be a little harder to see but as we get into September - November things begin to warm up again and grasses turn from green to golden brown.

Once the world's highest structure, an enormous volcano - possibly 25 miles wide at its base - collapsed inwards about 2-3 million years ago at a time when large fractures appeared creating the Eastern Rift wall. Today, the crater is home to over 20 000 large mammals. Its rich grassland caldera is an animal paradise.
