Step back in time as you wander through this historical Great House that dates back to 1706 and experience the vibrant colours of a Caribbean gem. This historical Great House has been lovingly restored and furnished with both antiques and reproductions that evoke visions of life in a bygone era. The dining room boasts a sixteen seat mahogany dining table complete with antique sideboards and silver service. There is also a gentleman’s study where one can envision the master of the house conducting his business affairs. Adjacent is the historical room which chronicles the ownership and occupancy of Fairview Great House from the 1700s to present day, examines life in colonial St. Kitts and depicts the painstaking process of restoring this local historical landmark. Upstairs is the master bedroom complete with washroom and antique commode. From the balcony a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea, South-East Peninsula and Nevis can be enjoyed. In the cobblestone courtyard you will find the bathing room with an authentic sun warmed volcanic stone bath along with the original kitchen building housing a stone oven. In the old stone cellar, you can purchase local pottery, art and other unique gifts from the Gift Shop.
After all of this, take a stroll through the 2.5 acre tropical Botanical Garden and learn about the variety of trees, shrubs and flowers from the informative signs placed around the garden. Then it is time for a cool and refreshing dip in the swimming pool along with some delectable Caribbean cuisine at the Nirvana at Fairview Great House Restaurant.
