Day 01. HAVANA Arrival in Havana (Capital city of Cuba, founded in 1519 by Spanish Colonizers) Transfer from Airport to Hotel. Hotel Check in. EVENING Information meeting with agency representative and tour guide. Dinner on own
Day 02. HAVANA MORNING Breakfast at the hotel. Introduction to Cuban Cultural Heritage by Cuban Architecture Professors. Departure by bus to Old Havana historic areas. Visit to the Scale Model of Old Havana to get an idea of the size and characteristics of that part of the city. Walking Tour in Old Havana guided by a professor of Architecture: Visit square and buildings that exemplify Colonial architecture, as well as Art Nouveau and Cuban baroque style. Visit sites where restoration work has been completed and/or restoration work is in progress. AFTERNOON Lunch time (boxed lunch) Visit some of the oldest castles and fortresses of the Americas. Explanation about the colonial defensive system. Visit National Center for Conservation, Restoration and Museology. Visit its laboratories and ateliers.Return by bus to the hotel. Free Time to enjoy the swimming pool or take a walk around. EVENING Dinner on own
Day 03. HAVANA MORNING Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic tour of Republican and Modern Havana, where neo-gothic, art deco, new classical, eclectic and modern architecture can be appreciated. Sightseeing: University of Havana, Napoleonic Museum, Colón Cemetery and Museum of Decorative Art. Visit the Scale Model of the City. Explanation about Havana’ urban and architectural development by specialists on Urbanism. Conversation with a University professor about Architecture curriculum and trends. AFTERNOON Lunch at El Aljibe restaurant. Enjoy Cuban traditional food. Panoramic tour of Miramar neighborhood: Fifth Avenue and other 20th Century Historic areas, buildings and squares. Visit Club Habana , to witness the restoration work on one of the most beautiful 1950’s buildings of Havana. Time to relax and have refreshments by the Club’s beach. Return by bus to the hotel
Day 04. HAVANA-CIENFUEGOS-TRINIDAD MORNING Breakfast at the Hotel. Departure by bus to Cienfuegos city. Founded by French immigrants in 19th Century on one of Cuba’s most beautiful harbours, on the southern coast of the island, Cienfuegos is known to Cubans as the Pearl of the South (5 hour drive with stops along the way) AFTERNOON Arrival in Cienfuegos city. Lunch at Palacio de Valle , the most outstanding buildings in the City. Tour of Cienfuegos city guided by the City’s Historian who is also head of the Conservation Office in Cienfuegos: Tour of the old part of Town and Punta Gorda neighborhood, where Eclectic and Neoclassical French Style architecture prevail Visit La Reina and Acea Cemeteries. Departure by bus to Trinidad de Cuba. (A real jewel of Cuban Colonial Architecture. The city is listed a World Heritage site by UNESCO and is one of the first villages founded by the Spaniards in Cuba, in the first quarter of the 16th Century). Arrival in Trinidad city. Accommodation in local hotel.
Day 05. TRINIDAD MORNING Breakfast at the Hotel. City tour in Trinidad, guided by Trinidad City’s Historian. Tour of the old-protected town to appreciate its amazingly well preserved and typical colonial architecture. Visit the Architecture Museum and Archeological Museum. Tour of rural areas in Trinidad. Visit the Valley of the Sugar Mills, a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. Free time to enjoy the beach at Ancon Penninsula. Optional snorkeling, diving and other nautical sports available. EVENING Dinner
Day 06. TRINIDAD-VARADERO MORNING Breakfast at Hotel. Departure for Varadero beach resort (Approximately 5 hour drive with stops along the way) AFTERNOON Arrival in Varadero Lunch in Retiro Josones Restaurant Panoramic City tour in the Peninsula guided by an architect to evaluate the impact of massive construction works on urban zones and on the beach. Accommodation at All Inclusive Hotel by the beach. Free time to enjoy one of the world’s best sandy beaches. EVENING Free to enjoy Varadero’s night life.
Day 07. VARADERO MORNING Breakfast at the Hotel. Free Day to enjoy the beach and all nautical sports offers. EVENING Dinner at Hotel restaurant.
Day 08. VARADERO-HAVANA MORNING Breakfast Direct transfer from Varadero Beach resort to Havana International airport to take the returning flight. (Approximately 2 ½ hour drive from Varadero Hotel to Havana’s International Airport)
