Day 01. Arrive Delhi - IGI airport and transfer to hotel. (check-in 1200 noon)
Day 02. Delhi – visit Jama Masjid, Gandhi Samadhi, Humayun Tomb, Qutub Minar, India Gate and Parliament Street. O/n hotel.
Day 03. Delhi – Leh fly Early morning by 0400hrs transfer to airport for flight to Leh. Morning arrive Leh. Greet by our representative and transfer to hotel. Afternoon full rest for acclimatization to the arid high altitude of Leh (3500m). Overnight in hotel.
Day 04. Indus valley Sightseeing. A day of exploring the monasteries of Shey the ancient summer palace of the Ladakh Kings; Thiksey with its startling resemblance to the Potala Palace of Lhasa Tibet and the renowned Hemis monastery famous for its exquisite Thankas and gilded images. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05. Leh. Morning after a leisure breakfast visit the grand Leh Palace, Tibetan Children village and Dalai Lamas residence at Choglamsar. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon visit Shanti Stupa and Leh bazaar by foot. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06. Leh – Uletokpo. Morning start drive to Uletokpo (about 72kms./ 2hrs.), en route visit the huge open Buddha statue at Likir gompa and visit the 1000 year old Alchi Choskor (Religious Enclave), famous for the wooden carvings, stucco art & wall paintings/ frescoes. Arrive Uletokpo for overnight stay.
Day 07. Uletokpo – Chilling - Skiu. After a leisure breakfast we start for Chilling (3hr.), passing the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus rivers and then following the Zanskar River. Arrive at the trek head near Chilling and cross Zanskar river by cable trolley/ ropeway is exciting!! Across the river meet our trek crew and start trek to Skiu (3500 m) 3 hours. Our first day of the walk is gentle is ideal for acclimatization. Overnight in tent.
Day 08. Skiu - Markha. 7-8hrs.trek. A long days walk, crossing back and forward over the Markha Stream, to Markha village (3800m). There are bridges at many of the more difficult crossing places. The lush vegetation along the river-side is in stark contrast to the dry & barren upper valley slopes. O/n in Tent.
Day 09. Markha – Thatchungtse, 6 hrs. trek. The trail continues above Markha village, taking us eastwards, deeper into the Markha valley to our camp-site at Thatchungtse (4100m). Along the way, we pass some impressive monasteries, some ruined and some intact. In this area we are likely to see small herds of blue sheep (bharal) which often come right down to the river to graze. O/n in Tent.
Day 10. Thatchungtse - Nimaling, 6hrs. trek. Today’s walk brings us to the head of the valley, which offers good views of the prominent peak of Kang Yatze (6,400 m) Crossing the Markha stream on the last bridge, we start a steeper climb towards the high plains, known as Nimaling. As well as blue sheep, golden marmots and large hares, Nimaling is also home to an impressive range of birds of prey, including lammergeyers & golden eagles.
Day 11. Nimaling - Kongmaru La (5150 m)- Chogdo (4000 m) 7 hours. Climbing to the summer pastures of Nimaling, used by the shepherds of Hankar and Markha, we follow a hedge right to the top of the pass. The Kongmaru La pass commands a grand view of the Kang Yatze north face (6400 m), the Ladakh ranges and the Indus valley. Camp at the base.
Day 12. Chogdo - Gyuncho La (4600 m) - Camp at 4350 m after a 6- 7 hour walk. Now we get on to a new and rarely traveled route through the valleys to the east of our objective then turning towards the west into a tributary valley which we reach after a long and gradual ascent to the Gyuncho La. We descend to set up camp at the base.
Day 13. Camp at 4350 m - Shang La (4800 m) - Matho Phu (4350 m) 6 hours. Crossing numerous spurs and minor passes with occasional views northwards towards the Indus Valley and the peaks beyond we climb up to the Shang La and then descend to the Tokpo River. The it's a descent to our campsite.
Day 14. Matho Phu - Mato La (4820 m) - Stok Kangri Base Camp (48900 m) 5 hours. At the pass, colorful prayer flags flutter in the wind, with the Zanskar ranges in the background. While descending steadily along side the Jingchan River tp our base camp, we get excellent views towards the Stock summit and the Stock Kangri peak. (6121m).
Day 15. Summit day. (Approximately 8-9 hours to base-camp). Our route initially crosses scree and boulder slopes, and then leads to easy angled snow slopes, which require the use of ice axe and crampons. The route is not difficult but at this altitude, it can be quite strenuous. From the summit of Stok Kangri (6153m), we get to see amazing views as far as the Karakoram, and Pamir r5anges and Tibet. The weather permitting we rest awhile and before descending to base-camp. O/n in tent.
Day 16. Stok Kangri Base Camp – Leh. After breakfast trek five hour back to Stok village. That goes downhill and following the river. At the trek end we will be received by our drivers. Before we leave bid farewell to our trekking crew. Arrive Leh and check-in to our hotel.
Day 17. Leh – Pangong. After a leisure breakfast we drive to Pangong lake over crossing the Changla pass (5,300mts./ 17,800ft.). Arrive & rest of the day explore the picturesque Pangong lake or “Hollow Lake” (Asia’s largest saltwater lake, the water appears to be striped in varying shades of blue, purple and green). The lake got more famous after the success of Bollywood blockbuster 3 idiots, which was shoot here. O/n in tented camp.
Day 18. Pangong – Leh. Morning time to chill out and relax. After early lunch drive back to Leh via Chang la pass. O/n in hotel.
Day 19. Leh - Delhi - Europe Today early morning assistance transfer you to airport for you flight to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and board your connecting flight back to home country. End of the services.
Day 20. Optional tour : DELHI – AGRA – DELHI or DELHI – AGRA – JAIPUR – DELHI can also be arranged, as per your interest.
