Itinerary
Day 01. Arrival to Asmara. Transfer to airport (Overnight Asmara) Upon arrival at Asmara International Airport, the tourists will be met, assisted and transferred to their hotel
Day 02. Asmara city tour (Overnight Asmara) Visit Asmara, the city called as Piccola Roma (Little Rome) and observe its most shining collection of Art Deco architectural wonders portrayed in many of its buildings such as the Roman Catholic cathedral, St Mary Coptic church, Al Khulafa al Rashedin, Market (vegetable, spices, souvenir, medeber), National Museum, Fiat Tagliero building, et cetera. It was rated 4th among the 10 greatest comeback cities by Lonely Planet in November 2010.
Day 03. Asmara – Filfil - Massawa (Overnight Massawa) Drive downhill to Massawa – the pearl of the Red Sea. En route visit Filfil- the ‘Green Belt’ region lies to the northeast of Asmara, hailed as the most beautiful country side in all of Eritrea, is permanently green covered with lush forests and vegetation and is home to an impressive array of birds and mammals. The steep road from Asmara winds its hairpin way past spectacular views over the mountains and valleys that reach out to the Red Sea plains. It is the most picturesque loop in Eritrea, with innumerable hairpin bends, jaw-dropping vistas, cool air and sometimes a veil of mist which adds a touch of the bizarre. This route, known as the Pendice Orientali, takes you though some of the most dramatic and diverse landscape in Eritrea. It makes a great day excursion.
Day 04. Massawa – Dessie & Madotte Island (Overnight camping) Exciting boat trip from port city of Massawa to pristine and beautiful Dessie and Madotte Islands. Dessie & Madotte Islands are among the most attractive of the Dahlak Islands, with vegetation, hills and good beaches; one of best islands for camping (fresh water available). It has good variety of corals and fish life.
Day 05. Dessie & Madotte Islands – Durgham & Durgella Islands (Overnight camping) Boat trip from Dessie & Madotte Islands to islands of Durgham & Durghela. Durgham & Durgella Islands are among the beautiful islands with good corals, abundant and diverse fish species. They are among the best islands for snorkeling and diving.
Day 06. Durgella Island – Massawa (Overnight Massawa) Boat trip back from Durgella Island to port city of Massawa.
Day 07. Massawa – Nefasit – Asmara. Departure. Drive back from Massawa enjoying the spectacular scenery of peaks and valleys all the way to Asmara. Late in the evening transfer to airport for departure.
