Itinerary
Day 01. ARRIVAL MAUMERE drive to MONI or DETUSOKO Upon arrival in Maumere meeting service and then drive to Moni or Detusoko. If time permits, visit some villages en route such as Lisedetu or Ranggase, where the typical and traditional Lio Tribe houses are located.
Day 02. MONI - KELIMUTU - BAJAWA Early morning, drive up to the three-coloured lake of Kelimutu, one of Indonesia's most dramatic sights. Return to Moni for breakfast, and then continue to Ende for its traditional market. Lunch at a local restaurant, then drive towards Nuabosi, which offers wonderful views of the town and Ende Bay. Then proceed to Bajawa with a stop at Penggajawa Beach, where people are collecting blue pebbles for living (export) and then proceed to Wogo village, with rows of traditional houses.
Day 03. BAJAWA - RUTENG Bajawa is located in the heart of Ngadha ethnic civilization, which is known for its megalithic cultures. There are traditional villages with unique stone monuments, ancestor worship shrines and Adat Houses. The hamlets are beautifully settled in the volcanic mountainous area. The most beautiful ones are Luba and Bena. Visit to these villages and in the afternoon drive to Ruteng. It is another beautiful driving day; you will pass by through scenic villages and lush rain forests. En route stop at Ranamese Lake and trace the trail into the cloudy and mystic forest around the lake. Proceed to Ruteng.
Day 04. RUTENG - LABUAN BAJO - RINCA - KOMODO On-board Ruteng is a small town in the backbone of Flores and neighbor to the Ruteng Nature Conservation Park - the home of Ngkiong - the endemic singing birds. It is worth to visit the Park early in the morning to attend nature's concert of singing birds (if there is no rain and strong winds). There is also a newly popped up volcano in the park. Take your chance to have a closer look into it. En route to Labuan Bajo stop at Cara village in Cancar area to see the unexposed world wonder - the Lingko - spider web shaped rice fields. It is probably the only rice field of this kind that exists on earth. Arrive in Labuan Bajo, transfer to the harbor and set sail to Rinca Island. Upon arrival in Rinca, take a trek to trace the dragons and the wildlife of the park. Lunch and dinner on board. Sail by night to Komodo.
Day 05. KOMODO - LABUANBAJO It is nice to wake up early in the morning in the nature. Calm water and serenity fills the morning. Breakfast on board while sailing to Komodo Village. It is the native Komodo settlement. The village once planned to be removed from the National Park but then the goverment realized that Komodo People are part of Komodo National Park. Visit the village to comprehend the daily life of the Komodo Natives. Then sail to Loh Liang the main harbor of Komodo National Park to take another chance to trace the dragons in the wild. On the way to Labua Bajo stop at Pantai Merah or Pink coloured sand beach with crystal clear water, beautiful coral gardens and plenty of tropical coral fishes. It is an excellent place to swim, for sun bathing and snorkeling. Stay there until the afternoon. Return to Labuan Bajo. Overnight at Labuan Bajo.
Day 06. LABUAN BAJO - NEXT DESTINATION Morning free program. Before transfer to the airport, visit Batu Cermin - the cave with stalactite and stalagmite.
