| Day Starting point for this expedition is Dumaguete City on Negros Island. Leaving at 10 a.m., we make our way to Lake Danao, twin volcanic crater lakes surrounded by lush tropical rainforests,nearly1000m above sea level. The trek takes around 4 hours, and we'll cross one of these lakes by a native canoe to reach a perfect campsite, where we spend the night in tents. | |
| Early in the morning we come down to Pulan Tubig (Red Water)- a river whose bed is stained a brilliant red from natural sulphur deposits from a nearby hotspring. Our path takes us through thick-forested areas along demanding trails. At mid-day we arrive at the road, where our Action Truck picks us up and brings us for lunch in Dumanguete City. In the afternoon we proceed to the white sand beaches of Sipalay, a 4 hour ride along the scenic coast of South Negros. We'll barbeque on the beach and camp out for the night in tents. | |
| This is a day for diving. Explore the wreck of the SS Panay, an American freighter sunk during WWII. After lunch make a second dive along the coral reefs of Sipalay, or snorkel and hang out on the beach. We'll spend another night at our beach camp. | |
| We'll visit the Mabinay Odluman Cave System - the second largest in the Philippines - repelling into the structure. The exploration will take around 2 hours as we go through a beautiful and impressive world underground. We arrive back in Dumaguete in the late afternoon. |
