Itinerary
Day 01. Arrival… meet, greet and transfer to Bolgoda. • After a long journey leisure and relax If you do not have much of a jet lag why not do a little canoeing ride in the lake and then a dip in the pool! • Dinner and overnight stay at Medagama River Retreat at Bolgoda.
Day 02. After breakfast begin your journey to Sinharaja Rainforest, early in the morning via Ratnapura. Observe the ‘Pooja’ at Ratnapura Maha Saman Devala. • Visit Ratnapura Gem City. • Check in at Blue Magpie hotel or Similar in Sinharaja. • Village walk in the evening. • Dinner and overnight stay at Blue Magpie hotel or similar.
Day 03. After a very early breakfast, armed with our exploration kits and the correct attire we proceed in to the forest. • After forest exploration, come back to the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at Blue Magpie Hotel or similar
Day 04. After breakfast, proceed to Udawalawe. Visit Elephant Transit Home at 12.00.noon • Arrive at the Park entrance and driven to Mahoora Safari Campsite by 4WD Jeep Enjoy the Sri Lankan lunch at the campsite. • Evening safari at Udawalawa National Park. • On conclusion, return to the Mahoora Safari Campsite which lit by, lanterns and the campfire. • BBQ dinner around the campfire and overnight stay at the Mahoora Safari Camp in Udawalawa National Park.
Day 05. Morning safari at Udawalawe National Park. • After finishing the safari, leave for Yala. • Check in at Priyankara hotel or similar in Tissamaharama. Evening relax at the hotel or optional – safari at Bundala National Park • Dinner & overnight stay at Priyankara hotel or similar.
Day 06. After an early breakfast, full day safari at Yala National Park. • Back to the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at Priyankara hotel or similar.
Day 07. After the breakfast, proceed to Belihuloya Mountain area. Observe ‘Pooja’ at Kataragama en route. Check in at River Garden, Eco Team’s main activity centre in Belihuloya. • Evening at Leisure at the hotel/Camp or Optional – You are free to do a birding trail around the River Garden premises in the evening. Dinner & overnight stay at the River Garden Cottages/Camp
Day 08. After an early breakfast, nature trail to Kinchiguna ancient village. Canoe trail at Samanalawewa. Evening visit to the Sabragamuwe University Museum. Dinner & overnight stay at the River Garden Cottages/Camp
Day 09. After breakfast visit Horton Plains National Park via mountain town Ohiya. Check in at Windsor hotel or similar in Nuwara Eliya – little England or Scotland !! . • Dinner & overnight stay at WIndsor Hotel or similar in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 10. After breakfast do an experiential /educational visit to a tea factory / plantation and learn about the tea culture. Leave to Kandy by Train with the locales ! Please note that this is done as a locale experience and no prior reservations are being done. • Afternoon commence a city tour of Kandy , including visit Scared Temple of the Tooth Relic & evening witness of Cultural dance show • Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel Topaz or similar in Kandy.
Day 11. After early breakfast, leave to Sigiriya. Start the Talakotewewa Nature Trail at 11.00a.m. • The trail will end at the foot of the Sigiriya Lion’s Rock. Climbing the Sigiriya Lion’s Rock. • Check in at Sigiriya Hotel or similar in Sigiriya. • Dinner & overnight stay at Sigiriya Hotel or similar.
Day 12. In the early morning, after breakfast, leave to world heritage site, Pollanaruwe ancient city capital. [Visits to different sites in the city capital could be done in cycles too.] Lunch at a suitable place in Polonnaruwa. Optional - Elephant back ride • Back to the hotel. • Dinner & overnight stay at Sigiriya Hotel or similar. Optional night walking nature trail
