Itinerary
Day 01. Tashkent - Arrive to Tashkent International Airport. After passport and customs controls you will be met by your guide/driver. Tashkent - The Capital of Independent Uzbekistan, the cosmopolitan city in the heart of Central Asia, the crossroad of different cultures. Depart airport to hotel. Check in, rest. Dinner and o/n.
Day 02. Tashkent – Samarkand (320km) - After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Samarkand, through countryside, crossing The Sir-Darya River on the way, passing the parts of Pamir Mountains. Arrive to Samarkand and check in to hotel, short rest. Start SSG in Samarkand, the former capital of the Great Empire of Tamerlane: Gur-Emir mausoleum (XVc), Registan Square consisting of Ulugbek’s Madrasah (XVc), Shir-Dor Madrasah (XVIIc) and Tilla – Kori Madrasah (XVIIc). Dinner and o/n.
Day 03. Samarkand - Breakfast and continue SSG in Samarkand; visit the Museum of Ulugbek’s observatory with the original part of main instrument sextant (XVc), Museum of Afrosiyab displaying the object from the archeological excavations (Vc b.c-XIIIc a.d), Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis (XI-XIVcc), lunch, and continue SSG by visiting Bibi-Khanum Mosque(XVc) and Siab bazaar, dinner and o/n.
Day 04. Samarkand – Shakhrisabz - Bukhara (480km) - After breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Shakhrisabz (110km), the birthplace of Tamerlane, through pasturelands of Hissar Range of Pamir Mountains. Arrive to Shakhrisabz and start SSG by visiting the magnificent architectural monuments of Timurid’s period: the ruins of Ak-Saray palace of Tamerlane (XVc), Dorus-Saodat complex (XIVc), Dorut-Tilovat (XIVc), Chorsu trade dome (XVIc). Depart Shakhrisabz to Bukhara (320km) through the parts of Hungry Steppe. Arrive to Bukhara check-in and rest before the dinner. o/n.
Day 05. Bukhara - City tour in Bukhara, the old center of Tajik culture, where locals still speak Tajik language the dialect of Farsi. Explore one of the gems of Islamic architecture, the center of Mediaeval Islamic Education. Visit: The Ark(IVc b.c-XVIIc a.d), Bolo-Khauz Mosque(XVIIc), Samanid’s Mausoleum(IXc-Xc), Mausoleum of Chashmai-Ayub(XII-XVIcc), city walls (XVIc), Kalon Minaret(XIIc), Miri-Arab Madrasah(XVIc), Kalon Mosque(XVIc). Visit Madrasah Of Ulugbek (XVc), Madrasah of Abdul-Azizkhan(XVIIc), trade domes from (XVIcc), Magoki-Attor mosque(XIIc), Lyabi-Khauz complex consisting of Nadir-Divan Begi Madrasah(XVIIc) and Khanaka(XVIIc), and the Khauz-water-pond(XVIIc). Dinner and o/n.
Day 06. Bukhara – Khiva (450km) - Breakfast and start the drive to Khiva through the Kyzyl-Kum desert, the second largest desert in Central Asia. On the way stop to see The Amu-Darya River, the largest river in Central Asia. Arrive to Khiva, the ancient land of Khorezm (Khwarazma -The Land of the Sun), check in to hotel. Dinner and o/n.
Day 07. Khiva - Start your day by a walk into the splendid historical part of Khiva – Ichan-Kala fort (IVc b.c-XXc). Your tour includes: Muhammad Aminkhan Madrasah and Kalta Minar (XIXc), Kunya Ark, the Museum of Zindan and Muhammad Rahimkhan Madrasah(XIXc), take a walk to The Mausoleum of local Saint Pakhlavan Makhmud(XIV-XXcc), Shergazi-khan Madrasah(XVIIIc), beautiful Minaret and Madrasah of Islam Khodja(XXc), Juma Mosque(Xc), Allakuli khan Madrasah and Caravan saray(XIXc), Tash-Khauli Palace and Harem(XIXc). Enjoy your free time to take a walk through the old streets of Ichan-Kala and city walls. Dinner and o/n.
Day 08. Khiva – Tashkent - After breakfast drive to Urgench for a flight to Tashkent. Arrive to Tashkent Airport domestic Terminal. Drive to the hotel, check in and short rest. SSG around Tashkent – visit The Independence Square and Memorial, Amir Temur Square, Monument of Courage and Memorial for Repressions, Museum of Applied Arts, Khazrat Imam Complex. Farewell dinner. Check out the hotel for International flight.
