Itinerary
Day 01. Arrive, Denver International Airport. Transport into the foothills of the Rockies outside of Boulder, Colorado for dinner and rest.
Day 02. Hike and Acclimate in Rocky Mountain National Park, which showcases Colorado's highest and most dramatic peaks. A fun day hike over a few of the 577 kilometers of trails is a great way to acclimatize during your introduction to the Rocky Mountain West.
Day 03. Ski, Sandboard or Sandsled Sand Dunes National Monument, which hosts the largest dunes in North America. At over 300 meters high, the dunes offer the opportunity to try your pick of gravity-fed sand sports - a great way to explore the surreal beauty of the dunes
Day 04. Scenic Train Ride and Rock Climbing in Aspen. Perhaps the most iconographic ski destination in America, Aspen, Colorado also features worldclass, beginner-friendly rock climbing. You'll arrive from the “frontrange” into the Colorado River's Glenwood Canyon via what is considered the most spectacular train route in north America.
Day 05. Scenic Train Ride to Green River, Utah. Continuing your adventure on rail, you'll pass through the central mastiff of the Rockies and descend across the Utah state border into the canyon-rich desert where you'll meet up with your rafting guides
Day 06. Whitewater Raft the Colorado River. Westwater Canyon offers the premiere two-day stretch of whitewater in the Rocky Mountain West. Enter a river environment sunk hundreds of meters below the surrounding desert plateaus for thrilling rapids, solitary beach campsites, delicious prepared meals and lazy afternoon swims.
Day 07. .Whitewater Raft the Colorado River.
Day 08. Mountain Biking Adventure in Moab, Utah. Considered the Mecca of the sport, Moab offers everything you can possible encounter on a mountain bike, with challenges and fun rides for any ability level. Enjoy a day on the most justifiably famous trails in the world.
Day 09. Canyoneer Canyonlands National Park. Rappelling into 100-meter canyons and plunging down natural waterfalls, the sport of canyoning is best enjoyed in the “Canyon Country” of Southern Utah.
Day 10. Explore Arches National Park. No visit to the Rocky Mountain region would be complete without the chance to visit Arches National Park. Enjoy this outdoor exhibition of natural stone arches before boarding your train to Salt Lake City
Day 11. Paraglide Salt Lake City. Home to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, Salt Lake is known most famously as a skiing destination, but the mountains here also host one of the most renowned paragliding sites in the US. Point Of The Mountain offers smooth, consistently great flying conditions that allow you to enjoy tandem flights that can last over an hour.
Day 12. Horseback Ride Grand Teton National Park. The Rocky Mountains are home to many spectacular ranges, but none are more dramatic than the Tetons. Rising 2,100 meters feet from the plains, the range shoots dramatically skyward. Because these mountains are not covered by any foothills, horsepacking trips into the park afford uninterrupted views of both the surrounding granite peaks and the valley below.
Day 13. Multi-day Sea Kayaking and SCUBA diving adventure in Yellowstone National Park. There are over 10,000 geothermal features here, including perhaps the most famous, Old Faithful. Many thermic spectacles buttress up against (and lie under) beautiful Yellowstone Lake, which is the largest freshwater lake above 4,000 meters in the contiguous United States – the perfect place to combine sea kayaking and SCUBA diving with chances to see both wildlife and geological splendor.
