Sussi and Chuma lodge is named after explorer David Livingstone's two faithful companions who carried his body all way back to England from where he died in Zambia. The lodge itself is an exclusive haven in the heart of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park(around 15 km upstream from Victoria Falls), which in addition to the mighty roar of the Victoria Falls, also boasts a wide variety of game as well as countless opportunities for adventure - the perfect combination for a Zambia safari adventure.
Sussi & Chuma is set on the edge of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Here the highly trained safari guides take guests on game drives in custom-built 4 x 4 safari vehicles to experience the land as it was when Livingstone first made his way across the ridge and beheld the smoke that thunders. The park has Elephant, Impala, Giraffe, Buffalo, Hippo, Crocodile, Zebra in large numbers and an exciting array of birds, including some Southern African specials like Peters Finfoot. It even has white rhino – the only place in Zambia where they can be seen.
Sussi & Chuma is the ideal choice for people that want some indulgence, peace and quiet and relaxation in between the frenetic falls activities. It is also a really good option for people wanting to spend a little longer in the area.
Stay in beautiful Rondavels connected by stilted wooden walkways raised high in the living canopy of giant Ebony trees lining the bank of the Zambezi River. Each unit has a private view of the Zambezi from its own deck among the branches .The interior of the Rondavels are a example of taking attention to detail to a new level.
There are also two luxurious houses available, ideal for family groups.
The main lodge building features a spectacular raised bar/lounge deck, open air dining area, swimming pool and lawns sweeping down to the water's edge.
