Itinerary
Day 01. (Arrival Day) - We will be met at the Tunis – Carthage International airport and transferred to our five star hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 02. Caving - Spend a significant portion of the day exploring the earth’s innards, the impressive caves in and around the old Roman town of Zaghhouan, once an important source of water for ancient Carthage. Highlights of your caving venture include the awesome stalactites and other geologic formations as well as the creatures of the night.
Day 03. Sbeïtla - Tozeur : After a stop in Sbeitla, site of impressive vestiges of the Roman and Byzantine eras, you will proceed to Tozeur, a desert oasis town which was once a Roman outpost as well as a stopping point for the caravan trading routes from sub-Saharan Africa to the Mediterranean coastal cities. Visit CHAK-WAK Park is an invitation to discover the secrets of nature, and leave filer memory Earth since birth. Located in a plant and floral framework at the heart of the Palmeral. The theme of this park (unique in the world) is a trip in time and in space has discovered the wonders of creation world, humanity, civilizations and religions monotheistic and polytheists history. Chak-wak Park is a space of five hectares, dinosaurs fifty and a hundred of animal, human, of mini-museum, caves, huts, and humanoid figurines all scattered in a lush vegetation oasis. Day 04. Tozeur : AM : Palmeral Adventure Park Palmtree to palmtree in the air! Five tyroliennes in the air, climbing wall, routes that adapt to different levels. In pm, we will cross the spectacular Chott El Jerid, the seasonal salt lake, a veritable land of mirages. In the late afternoon we will set out by camel for the trip to Zaafran where we will spend the night in a Saharan campsite. hidden away among the dunes stretching as far as the eye can see; majestic scenery for stays!
Day 05. (Berber Villages) Today we will visit three Berber villages. In Matmata, a small Berber town, we will visit a traditional underground “troglodyte” structure, reminiscent of Luke Skywalker’s home, where some of the local people still reside.. Our next stop will be Toujane, a picturesque Berber hill village. Finally we arrive at Ksar Hedada, site of the old Berber warehouses used as a set for the fictional Mos Espa slave quarters in Star Wars the Phantom Menace. After, visiting Tatouine, an area dotted with Ksours, fortified granaries of the Berbers and the semi-nomadic shepherds. Pass the night in a 500 year old berber dwelling house in Tataouine area! It’s not a 5* hotel but it worth to pass one night like berbers 500 years ago!
Day 06. (Berber Villages) Pass the day to learn the shepherd job with a real one. Drive the sheep and cook in the landscape!
Day 07. (Tataouine, Chenini, El Jem, Tunis) We will start our day in our next stop is the Berber mountain village of Chenini where the homes are dug into the slopes. Then it’s on to Gabès and the famous spice market. Our final visit for the day will be at the immense Roman amphitheater in El Jem. After that return to the capital Tunis.
Day 08. : (Departure Day) After breakfast we will be transferred to the international airport in Tunis where we will bid our host a final farewell.
