You will find here a proposal for one week vacation to enjoy some pleasures of life: walking, bathing and red wine in two different areas’ not very far from each other, sharing the same culture but as different as wine and water.

Cinfães
The River Bestança is called one of the cleanest rivers in Europe. We are not experts on that matter, however we can guarantee that its waters are crystal clear and its waterfalls simply impressive.

Portugal is a sunny country and, during August, the air can be quite dry if you are not near the water. That is why the walks will take place in very narrow canyons where we will also have the chance to bath.

In this area we will have the chance to walk along three different rivers very different from each other but all exceptionally beautiful.

Régua
Régua is a major Port wine city producer and you can find some fine wine cellar here.

A Port wine was drunk during Tafalgar’s battle and tasted by Nelson; carried by General Soult, it was drunk by Napoleão and Josefina in Malmaison’s palace; it was drunk by Wellington before Waterloo`s battle started and in the end to celebrate such an important victory; it was very appreciated by Catherine of Russia in her court.

The walks will take place mainly along the River Douro where you will have the opportunity to cross magnificent vineyards of the Douro Valley. To return to the starting point we will take the regular train as the one you can see on the photo bellow.

A small yacht trip on the River Douro is also planned to happen on the fifth day.

Of course we will have the opportunity to taste Porto Wine and some other Portuguese wines as well.
