This tour is both an educational and leisure experience, affording you with an insight to Borneo’s rich natural heritage. Observe wild, protected and endangered animals in their natural habitat and appreciate the efforts by various government and non-government organizations to implement a sustainable eco-management system.

Visitors have a higher chance of animal sightings and animals like the pygmy borneon elephants, the orangutan, probocis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys or langurs, macaques, civet cats, snakes, estuarine crocodiles, otters, wild boars, birdlife such as the oriental darters or snakeheads they are called, herons, Wallace's Hawk-Eagle, Jerdon's Baza, Violet Cuckoo, Blue-eared Kingfisher, Grey-headed Fish-Eagle, hornbills and can be ‘found’, if your nature guide and boatman is experienced. There may be a lot more than meets the eye.

Itinerary
Day 01. Kota Kinabalu / Sepilok / Sukau - An early morning flight takes you to the historic town of Sandakan where upon arrival, you are transferred to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre where young orang utans are coached to enable them to return to their natural habitat. After lunch at a local restaurant, transfer by road to Sukau. Check in at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge.. Relax by the river before embarking by boat up-river along the Sabah’s longest river, Kinabatangan with the opportunity to view wildlife and birds in its virgin mangrove and rainforest habitats. Search for some of the primates’ species, including Proboscis Monkeys, Overnight at overnight Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge for two nights.
Day 02. Sukau / Ox / Bow Lake Cruise - A 6am-morning cruise up the Kinabatangan River on the Ox-Box Lake for bird watching and other wildlife. Take a short jungle walk (if weather permits) and experience the wildness of Borneo before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Free at leisure to explore the surrounding of Sukau. In the evening, boat cruise along the river to see many species of flora and fauna of the forest.
Day 03. Sukau / Gomantong Caves / Sandakan - Wake up to the raucous calls of birds, insects and animals and greet a crisp, clean morning with a hearty breakfast. Enroute to Sandakan town, visit the famous birds' nests caves at Gomantong. Have lunch in Sandakan then tour the historic town prior to your flight departure for Kota Kinabalu.
