Tenerife; the perfect year round destination

Tenerife, one of the seven islands of the Canary Islands, lays claim to millions of tourists each year with its diverse history, its beautiful scenery, and thriving wildlife. Tenerife maintains a steady climate of wonderful weather year round. On average, the temperatures range from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius, varying during the summer and winter months. These temperatures lend themselves to fantastic holidays year round.

There are limitless things to do in Tenerife on holiday. The mountains invite exploration with their rugged terrain, the cities burst with a plethora of shops, churches, and parks for one to immerse themselves, the beaches are diverse in their landscape, ranging from rocky to sandy, and the architecture of the cities provoke awe. Travellers also have a wide choice of travel packages as all budgets are catered for from luxurious all inclusive trips right through to cheap holidays to Tenerife to satisfy those on a tight budget .

Mount Tiede is one of the many mountains in Tenerife open to tourists. At 3,718, Mount Tiede is the third highest volcano in the world. Mount Tiede is in a protected national park, and a tour bus goes up once a day. To get to the summit, however, one needs to obtain a permit.

Santa Cruz is the capital of Tenerife and is full of different sights to see. There are a number of churches, namely the Iglesias de La Concepcion, and the Iglesias de San Francisco de Asis. Santa Cruz is also home to a number of castles, including the Castillo de San Juan Bautista. The history behind these churches and castles is fascinating with respect to the culture of the area, and it makes a great addition to any holiday. The parks have areas for recreation, along with beautiful flora. The Parque de La Granja is a prime example of this.

Most of the coast of Tenerife is rocky, which is a different type of beach experience for most. However, there are also the typical sandy beaches that travellers can visit. El Medano is a beautiful beach town in Tenerife which has consistent strong winds, this beach is the ideal spot for windsurfing in Tenerife, a wonderful sport to do while on holiday.

The architecture in Tenerife varies from humble dwellings to abstract architecture. The Auditorio de Tenerife is a prime example of abstract architecture in Tenerife.
